Boba Fettwas a fan-favourite character back in the day, and it probably had something to do with his mystique. We never saw him outside of his armour, so we had no idea what he looked like. All we knew was that he was a bounty hunter, and he looked cool as hell.
So, whenThe Book of Boba Fettshed some of this mystique, there was a lot of pressure for the show to do something good with it. However, fans were split on the direction of his story, and very few were pleased with the decision to dedicate so much of the show to The Mandalorian, rather than Boba Fett himself. The Book of Boba Fett Season 1 only bagged a score of 66 percent with critics on Rotten Tomatoes - and 44 percent with audiences.
Now, it sounds like Season 2 is far from guaranteed. Speaking withCollider, Boba Fett actorTemuera Morrisonsays he is “sad” that he hasn’t returned to the role for three years now, and would love to get some news about Season 2.

“Where’s The Book of Boba Fett Season 2? Where the hell is Season 2?” says Morrison. “I know they’re doing Ahsoka Season 2. I’m going, ‘Ah, where’s my Season 2?'”
However, he does say that he had a good chat with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau at Star Wars Celebration, so all is well there. He also hints that they’re planning something, although he couldn’t say what.
On top of that, he used a very creative metaphor to describe how he feels about his place in the Star Wars series right now. “Did you go to grandma’s house? And she had that preservative jar of peaches up on the shelf. […] I’m one of those peaches, and I’ve been put up on the shelf,” he explains. “I’ve been preserved for a later date, and I’m going to be tastier.”
There’s a chance that we’ll see him in the upcoming filmThe Mandalorian & Grogu, although we’re still in for a bit of a wait with that, as it’s set to hit theatres on June 05, 2025. If Morrison hasn’t heard anything about a second season of The Book of Boba Fett right now, then it’s unlikely that it will drop on Disney Plus before the film is out, so that might very well be the next time we see Boba Fett.
