While being able to potentially repair your weaponand share creations with players is a cool addition, the mostinteresting new feature of the Zelda Notes app is the Voice Memories that can be found throughout both games. These Voice Memories come from Princess Zelda herself and shed some light on a number of things, including a hint towards the fate of the Guardians.

A Tears Of The Kingdom Voice Note Basically Confirms What Happened To The Guardians

It Also Explained Why The Hateno Lab Still Has A Guardian On Top Of It

There are a total of 365 Voice Memories to be found across Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom’s Switch 2 Editions, andYouTuber knightpohtaytoe has been sharing some of the most interesting ones on their YouTube page. AlthoughZeLink shippers might not have much to talk about, there is an interesting note in Tears of the Kingdom that hints at the Guardians' fate.

As pointed out by knightpohtaytoe, one of the TOTK Voice Memories, titled “In A Puff Of Smoke”, has Zelda talking about the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab in the aftermath of Breath of the Wild. Zelda notes that after the Calamity was defeated in Breath of the Wild, all of the “ancient relics” turned to dust and “disappeared”.

As much fun as it was to deflect laser blasts once you’d mastered Breath of the Wild’s mechanics, I don’t think many of us missed the Guardians in Tears of the Kingdom.

Since the Guardians are part of those “ancient relics”, that means they probably also turned to dust after the Calamity’s defeat. Zelda also notes that the only thing that remains are “replicas”,which explains why there’s still a big Guardian sitting on top of the Hateno tech lab, as it was seemingly just a replica all along. Well, there you have it, it looks like the Guardians really are gone for good.
