Summary

WithElectronic Artsno longerholding an exclusive licenseoverStar Warsgames, we’ve been treated to some rather quality titles as a result of the increase in competition. Whetherthat’s Cal Kestis' journey in the Jedi series, orlast year’s Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft, it’s been pretty nice as a Star Wars fan.

That’s not even consideringthe turn-based game, Zero Company, that will launch at some point in 2026, orQuantic Dreams' Eclipse, which we’ve heard nothing about, orthe KOTOR remake that was confirmed to be still in the works.

Still, there’s no such thing as too many Star Wars games, especially when considering the dearth of games we experienced not too long ago.Taking to Reddit, one gamer asked fans: What kind of game should be next?

Right from the rip,one gamer proposed a 2D Metroidvania. Honestly, Metroidvanias make everything better. Just askPrince of Persiaandeven Scooby-Doo.

“Star Wars Zoo Tycoon,“another user wrote. “So many awesome creatures.” That’s not a bad idea, and it was echoed byanother user who suggested some nice additions, like deciding whether to participate in galactic conflicts.

Another user put their hat in for an RTS game. At least Zero Company is giving us some tactical gameplay, but an RTS would definitely be cool.If Halo can pull it off via Halo Wars, then so can Star Wars.

Following the success of The Mandalorian,a user said a Red Dead-styled game would be a dream come true. The unfortunate part is thata Mandalorian game was in development at Respawn, though it was ultimately canceled. Elsewhere,a fan simply asked for the return of 1313, the canceled game featuring Boba Fett. That would be quite the twist of fate, asa revival is reportedly never happening.

The rest of the thread is chock-full of ideas that would almost certainly translate to the world of Star Wars. All we can do is hope that someone with power is reading it, and we can see some of these ideas become reality.
