Godzillahas been getting a lot of attention lately due to a combination of great new movies and the kaiju turning 70. That attention includesfive new Funko Pops we revealed a couple of months ago, and the wait for the best Pop of that particular bunch is almost over.

If you’re reading thisafter 12:30 pm EST on July 7, the wait is already over. SpaceGodzilla’s first-ever Funko Pop is here, waiting for you on Funko’s website. That’s the only place you can buy Godzilla’s latest Pop, and if you’re seeing this after the time the cosmic kaiju’s shiny new figure went live, you might want to get over there sharpish before it sells out.

SpaceGodzilla’s Funko Pop is finally here

All the way from outer space, ready to join your collection

While the Pop isn’t a convention exclusive, nor does it appear to be limited to a certain number of units, it was, in my opinion, the best of the five we were given the opportunity to reveal back in May. When a series has been around long enough, it’s only a matter of time until the villain becomes the hero. It’s also only a matter of time before they go to space, or space comes to them, which was the case for SpaceGodzilla’s introduction.

Godzilla is typically known for being the problem in Godzilla media. However, when SpaceGodzilla arrived on Earth, he was pitted in a fight against the new intergalactic villain. SpaceGodzilla is a supposedly improved clone of the original - another trope in long-running series - and although it’s a pretty deep Godzilla cut, the icon’s brightly-colored space twin has received the Funko Pop treatment.

Funko’s SpaceGodzilla Pop is of the premium variety, making itslightly more expensive than a standard figure at $19.99. It’s a little taller than a regular Popat 4.7 inches tall, and has a shiny, almost pearlescent finish. Great, as it adds to the outer space aesthetic, which is the whole point. It also appears to have legs that can move, another feature sometimes saved for Premium Pops if that is indeed the case.

With SpaceGodzilla stomping into the Funko store today, I believe that means all five of the Godzilla Pops revealed earlier this year are now available to buy. SpaceGodzilla, MechaGodzilla, and the pink and yellow Deco Godzillaare on sale at Funko, the matching purple Deco Godzillacan be found at Entertainment Earth, andDestroyah is an Amazon exclusive.
