Summary
InPokemon, there are two ways to classify edible Pokemon. For some creatures, they already look like food from the get-go, meaning you’re already thinking about taking a bite upon seeing them. Other Pokemon have qualities that make you want to cook them up in a big pot. These are specialty meals indeed.
Journeying across the region is hard work. You need to go through caves, sail across the sea, and battle trainers each day. All that can make a person hungry for some delicious tails or a cold treat. So here are ten Pokemon that will end up on the plate instead of in the PC.
10Appletun
A Cozy Meal Fresh From The Oven
Apple pie is delicious, especially when the crust is a bit more crunchy and not completely soft. Appletun immediately makes you want to eat it, even if it means putting an end to the poor critter. Just make sure you have Charmander using Fire Spin to keep the pie warm.
This Pokemon’s genetics decided to mimic an apple pie. It’s a strange choice, but one that might help it attract prey with that sweet scent. Unfortunately, it also puts it on the dinner table for us humans. So, sorry Appletun, but I’m having you with a side of ice cream.
9Vanillite
Delicious Next To A Slice Of Appletun
Ice cream is always yummy whether you eat it by itself or get yourself a nice scoop next to a slice of pie. Vanillite is one Pokemon from the Unova region that you simply can’t pass up. This Pokemon resembles an ice cream cone and this pretty much secures its place on the dinner table.
After running around the region collecting Pokemon and gathering badges, what really makes a day happy is knowing you have an ice-cold treat to look forward to. Though this isn’t good news for poor Vanillite.
8Alcremie
All That Creamy Goodness
The great thing about Alcremie is that it comes in a variety of different flavors. You can guess the taste by the color of the cream and the berries on the Pokemon’s head. This means eating one isn’t enough. You have to eat them all.
Luckily, this is one Pokemon you won’t have to hunt down and devour. Alcremie are known to hand out their cream willingly to trainers. This is why they are often found as partners to chefs across the Galar region.
7Tatsugiri
Sushi To Go
Sometimes you don’t want to eat an actual meal but get some bite-sized portions that explore a variety of flavors. Tatsugiri is the perfectDragon Pokemonto embody that kind of platter. With three different Tatsugiri, you can get a nice sampler of sushi going on.
These little fish Pokemon come with the rice already included. Just make sure that when you’re tracking them down, you don’t end up as lunch for a Dondozo. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there or, in this case, a Pokemon eat Pokemon world.
6Fidough
It’s interesting when a Pokemon gets less delicious when it evolves. Fidough has this cute, cuddly, and edible design to it that resembles dough. Once it becomes a Dachbun though, it gets properly baked but also gets hairy.
Luckily, Fidough doesn’t have any extra hairs poking out at this stage. It is a little undercooked piece of bread. While eating dough on its own is probably not that healthy, who hasn’t yearned to stick a handful in their mouths? Be honest, we’ve all tried it at some point.
5Slurpuff
A Day At The Circus
Just grab a stick and start swirling in that Slurpuff. This Pokemon looks just like cotton candy even though it’s supposed to be whipped cream. It even has a cherry on top to make it all the more appetizing.
The funny thing is that Slurpuff probably wouldn’t make a good meal. Unlike other Pokemon where the body is definitely made up of sweets or something edible, Slurpuff only smells that way. Yes, that is all fur, and while you probably won’t enjoy eating it, the smell would at least make you want to try it once.
4Exeggcute
The Cheapest Eggs You’ll Find
Eggs are pretty costly. Luckily, the Safari Zone of Kantois full of Exeggcute, and they all come in pairs of six. It takes plenty of running to get two compatible Pokemon to produce an egg, but this way you may multiply your egg count.
Now this is a traditional meal for any Pokemon trainer. You can make an omelet, boil them up, fry them sunny side up, you name it. Nothing beats a good pair of eggs in the morning. Now if only there were some spicy pepper Pokemon to add some flavor.
3Slowpoke
Slowpoke Tails Are A Delicacy
Team Rocket steals Slowpoke tails in the Johto region due to their status as a food item. While this does leave a few Slowpoke sad, other games state that the tails can grow back and, in some cases, even fall off on their own.
So this seems like a victimless crime when it happens naturally. Pokemon Sword & Shield even uses Slowpoke tail in some of their curry recipes, and it looks delicious. Perhaps it’s the fact that Slowpoke uses the tail to catch yummy fish that gives it that special taste.
2Ditto
Ditto Is My Hear Me Out
Ditto is not a Pokemon based on any type of food. Yet you could say that because of its ability to transform into anything, it can take the shape of any delicious dish. That’s not the point. Ditto looks delicious just the way it is.
It’s basically a little blob of Jello. Ditto looks like it would jiggle if you were to tap it on the head, which only makes you want to dip your spoon into it and take a bite. It’s the texture that draws you in.
1Magikarp
The Best Dish Of The Sea
Magikarp feels like the go-to fish in the Pokemon world. Every region has them and they can be found in abundance. Even the anime has made Magikarp feel like a feast. This is one Pokemon that doesn’t seem too surprising to find out that it gets eaten.
Using a Miltank for steak might seem monstrous. However, Magikarp seems like fair game for anyone, from humans to Pokemon. Fried Magikarp, steamed Magikarp, Magikarp on a stick, it all sounds yummy. So do golden Magikarp taste better?
