After complete radio silence for nearly a year and a half, as the highly anticipated first trailer forGrand Theft Auto 6was launched in December 2023, Rockstar Games announced that the next GTA has been delayed to a 2026 release date. However, to make the longer wait a bit more bearable, the developer launched the second trailer for GTA 6, showcasing in-game cutscenes and introducing various characters.

In true Rockstar fashion, the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has a lot going on in its nearly three-minute runtime, as it has no shortage of hidden details that might need multiple viewings to catch.

Games Within A Game

During one of the shots in the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, when Lucia comes back home from her mandatory community service and lies on top of Jason, there is a PlayStation 5-esque gaming console placed right next to the television. On the table, next to the beer bottles, there is also a controller that resembles the DualShock 4, which could mean that the massive outside open world of GTA 6 might not be the only way to keep yourself entertained while playing the game.

Perhaps Rockstar Games will pull a game-ception and provide the option of playing some titles on the console within Grand Theft Auto 6, which would be nice after a long day of bank heists.

7The Gym System

Throwback To San Andreas

Considering that it is Rockstar Games, chances are that the cutscenes shown in the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer likely hint at some of the gameplay elements that you can expect in the huge open world of the game. An instance of that shows up when Jason heads to the beach and uses the bench press, an activity that brings back nostalgia from the good old San Andreas days.

InGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Carl Johnson could head to various gyms and work on his physique, which is a system that GTA 6 could be bringing back, as it has not really been explored in other titles in the franchise.

Yet Another Rebranding

Getting your hands on weaponsis one of the main elements that define the Grand Theft Auto experience, and if you have been following the franchise since GTA 3, you have most likely come across Phil Cassidy. Phil has appeared in various GTA titles, ranging from Grand Theft Auto 3 to Vice City Stories, and in each game, he has owned a gun business, although the name is different every time.

The tradition continues in Grand Theft Auto 6, as Phil Cassidy makes a comeback after nearly two decades and is now the proud owner of Phil’s Ammunation, a store that Jason and Lucia will likely be visiting quite often.

5Phone Numbers

Try Calling Them In GTA 5

You can find various phone numbers sprinkled in throughout the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, and interestingly enough, you can actually call them on your phonein GTA 5. These phone numbers can be seen in instances ranging from the cash register that Jason is robbing to a billboard marketing Watkins Auto Parts, but although there isn’t anyone on the other end of the phone when called, they are still active numbers as they actually connect and do not just go to busy.

However, there is a particular number featured in the GTA 6 trailer that has some dialogue recorded for it in Grand Theft Auto 5. Calling the phone number written on the wall next to the police vehicles that Jason drives by prompts you to call back later since no one is available to pick up the phone.

An HD Universe Constant

The second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer features plenty of vehicles, which is an element that has shaped the GTA franchise since its inception, but there is one car manufacturer that stands out. In the trailer, you can see a couple of Vapid models in different shots, which is a car manufacturer that has been a constant presence in the franchise’s HD Universe, starting with Grand Theft Auto 4.

Serving as the GTA version of Ford Motor Company, the Vapid models featured in the trailer range from a Ranchero-esque vehicle to a truck owned by Brian Heder, Jason’s landlord.

3Just Fixing Some Leaks

Rockstar’s Attempt At Meta Humor

Right at the very beginning of the second GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar Games subtly acknowledges the numerous leaks that the developer has fallen victim to during the development of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto installment. When Brian asks Jason what he is doing on the roof of his house, the latter replies that he is “just fixing some leaks.”

Given the extensive waiting period between the first and second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailers, there were bound to be leaks regarding the details of the game, so with Trailer two, Rockstar has taken matters into its own hands and officially clarified some of those leaked details.

The Vice City Gang Returns

As Jason drives by the police bust in the second GTA 6 trailer, you’re able to see multiple gang members getting arrested against a backdrop of a wall full of art and writings. With the wall painted blue at the top and red at the bottom, with the word Haiti written on it along with portraits of key figures, the street gang being arrested are known as the Haitians, who used to be a major presence in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Since Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the same setting, the Haitians have returned, as their fight with the Cubans for control over the Little Haiti and Little Havana areas of Vice City continues.

1Borrowing From The Real World

Miami Dolphins, Clevelander, And More

Since Grand Theft Auto 6 is aiming for a highly immersive and realistic experience as you navigate life through the State of Leonida, there are plenty of things that Rockstar Games has borrowed from the real world to create their GTA counterparts. One such example comes when a sports fan is watching a video on his phone, wearing a turquoise jersey with the word Manatees on it, which is clearly Grand Theft Auto’s version of the Miami Dolphins.

Other similar instances include a shot of a party at a hotel inspired by the Clevelander on Miami Beach and multiple beer brands that are plays on brand names from the real world, like Piswasser instead of Budweiser.
