A reliableSilent Hillinsider has claimed thatKonamihas wanted the series to be “near-annual” for some time, which could mean a new game every year.
Considering how long the Silent Hill franchise was stuck in limbo over the past few decades, it’s been very impressive seeing Konami put so much effort into reviving it lately. Sure,Silent Hill: Ascension was a total let-down, butSilent Hill 2’s remake was surprisingly great, and theupcoming Silent Hill f looks to be another treat.
With all of these games releasing relatively close to one another, it’s become clear that Konami is trying its best to make Silent Hill the household name that it was back in the PS2 era. While you might think that these release dates are just happening to line up with one another, they seem to be part of a wider plan.
Konami Wants A New Silent Hill Game Every Year, According To An Insider
I Wonder Where That Puts The Silent Hill Remake…
Over on Twitter, reliable horror insiderAestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem) responded to a tweet asking about Silent Hill’s release schedule. The Twitter user pointed out that Silent Hill appears to be running on a yearly schedule right now, and asked if that was the plan going forward.
In response, Dusk Golem said that the plan has “always” been for Silent Hill to be “near-annual” when it made its big comeback. This was apparently something Konami decided early on, as they wanted to release a “new game a year” to try and bring the series back for good.
With Silent Hill f taking this year’s slot, that likely means Townfall is set for 2026 and then therecently revealed Silent Hill remake seems set for some time in 2027.
Of course, Dusk Golem also points out thatKonami might not live up to that goal, but that it’s actively trying. It’s also not clear if this structure is always going to be the case or if it’ll be relaxed once Silent Hill is more positively received across the board.
