Summary
Silent Hill fwasre-revealed earlier this year, giving us our first look at the main character, the game’s setting, and some wonderfully awful body horror that we’ve come to expect from the series. It looked excellent, and a lot further forward in development than many of us expected, given that we’d had nothing but radio silence about the project since the trailer dropped.
Turns out, Silent Hill f looked so good because it’s actually launching this year. Revealed during today’s State of Play showcase, Konami has given us a gorey new trailer, showcasing a lot of the game’s combat and some of the monsters we’ll be coming uncomfortably face-to-face with.
Silent Hill f Release Date Revealed
Just like in previous Silent Hill games, there seems to be a very heavy emphasis on melee combat, as we can see our protagonist using a classic bloody pipe to beat on a bunch of monstrosities. We can also see her briefly holding a large spear as she slowly walks up to a creepy person, though it’s unclear whether this will be an actual weapon.
To cap it all off, we finally got a release date for Silent Hill f too, and it’s coming a lot sooner than most of us probably expected. We’ll be diving into 1960s Japan on September 25 later this year, meaning we’ll be getting two major Silent Hill games within the space of a single year. Boy, it’s good to be a fan of the series.
In fact, it’s a pretty good time to be a gamer overall at the moment, as this month’s State of Play was packed with some pretty great reveals. Not only did we get the announcement ofa new Marvel fighting game called Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, but we also gotreveals for Nioh 3, thelong-awaited Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, andBloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement.
