Well, it looks like that obvious conclusion has finally been confirmed,as it was announced during Konami’s showcase todaythat early development on a new Silent Hill remake from Bloober has begun. More specifically, it seems that theteam is remaking the very first game in the series.

Silent Hill 1 Is Getting Remade By Bloober Team

This Time, It Has All Of Our Faith

To cap off Konami’s Press Start showcase (which also revealed a new online mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater), a very quick but long-awaited announcement was made for a Silent Hill remake. That announcement only showed a splash screen saying “Silent Hill in development” alongside Bloober Team and Konami’s logos, but it’s clearly going to be a remake of the first game.

The biggest clue towards this is that the theme song for the first Silent Hill was played when the splash screen confirming the project was shown. It’s a little strange that Bloober went with remaking the first game over moving onto the third, but it now seems likely that it’ll eventually end up doing all three entries in the classic trilogy.

We have no idea when the Silent Hill remake is going to arrive, but consideringBloober also has its own new game, Cronos, it seems like it’s still a ways off.

For those that don’t know, the first Silent Hill game starred Harry Mason as he explored the titular town to try and find his missing adopted daughter. The first entry in the series is very different from the second and has less of a psychological focus, but it’s still a beloved game worthy of a remake. At least this time Bloober will have nothing but faith behind it.
