Where To Find Captain Breandan
After you’re left shipwreckedin the Horns of the South, make your way to the west to find the Keepers. Make your way inside the fort andspeak with Fearghasto learn where Captain Breandan is. Fearghas won’t tell you right away, not unless you can do one of the following:
Once yougain Fearghas' favor, he’ll tell you that the Captain isn’t even in the fort. He put it on lockdown and left, taking off forthe Dal Riata tribethat set up campby the All-Mother Templein the northeast.
Make your way there to find him. You’ll know you’re in the right place when youfind barricades surrounding the stepsto the temple entrance. Maybn is out front, standing guard. Youmay be able to convince herto let you through, but more than likely, you’ll have toconvince her with your fists.
You can approach the temple without the tribe’s blessing, but you will receive a bounty for trespassing and the tribe will be hostile.
After beating her in combat, speak with Vrannin her tent. This willstart the Act of Kindness quest, where you’ll have to help her make peace with the Keepers beforeshe lets you into the temple.
You’ll have several options for completing this quest, either bycrafting a potion or a ceremonial axeas a sign of good will. Deliver the gift to Fearghas, thenreturn to Vrannwith the good news. It’s enough to grant you entry to the temple.
Head up the barricaded stepsreach the temple, having gained favor with the tribe, you willfinally find Breandan. Here, he unveils his plan for the south and asks you to do the impossible:kill Galahad the Pure, a knight of the round table.
You have a choice to make, and it’s a heavy one. You can eitherfollow Breandan’s ordersand kill Galahad the Pure, who has been terrorizing the south, or you cantake matters into your own handsand cast your lot with Kamelot.
Both choices willhelp you claim Excalibur, but the consequences will vary. Regardless of your choice, you’ll need to find the fort where Galahad and his men have holed up.
There is no “right” answer, but the main story implies that siding with the south is your best option.
If you’re not sure what to do, you canspeak with Arthur at your campfireto hear his thoughts on the matter. Unfortunately, he doesn’t offer much advice since his memory is impaired.
If you follow through with what Captain Breandan asked, you’ll have your work cut out for you. Galahad the Pure isa powerful and cruel knight, and he will wipe the floor with you if you aren’t ready.
Make sure to bring plenty of potions.
Try tokeep your distanceduring the fight, though watch out for his ranged spells. There’splenty to use as coverduring the battle, and you can evenget Galahad stuck on his own pyre.
He won’t take damage from it, but it prevents him from moving towards you.
Once he’s slain, theguards outside will come rushingin. You’ll have tokill all of them, along with the ones outside the fort, to escape. This isincredibly difficult for lower-level characters, but it can be done.
Killing Galahad the Pure has the following consequences:
This is the best course of action long-term, though it’s much more complicated. However, it’s the only way to progress through this quest and reach the end of it.
How To Kill One-Eye
If you decide toside with Galahad the Pure, you won’t have to do much fighting. As a Knight of the Round Table, he’s quite powerful and will handle the combat himself.
If you side with Galahad, the quest will fail andthere’s no going back. Instead, the quest Shuffling The Deck will begin.
Killing One-Eye and Breandan will have the following consequences:
This course of actionis not recommendedfor benevolent characters, though it is much easier to handle if you prefer to avoid combat. You’ll only have tofight some Dal Riata outside the All-Mother Temple, and you’ll have help from Galahad’s troops.
Where To Find Sewal’s Tomb
After youslay Galahad the Pureand return to the temple tospeak with Captain Breandan. He gives you a seal from One-Eye and tells you to uncover the truthbehind the stone statue in Sewal’s Tomb. You can find the entrance to the tomb in the Sunken Village, all the way to the east.
Inside, you’llface off against a couple of corpse eaters, then drop downpast the portcullisinto a pool by the statue. Three undead are here, worshiping the statue, butthey’re not hostile.
Notice the armor they’re wearing? You can’t attack these three devout undead.
Head to the back of the statueand place the seal to open the door leading further into the tomb. Make your way down the stairs to learn the truth by speaking with the individual in the furthermost pod.
With this information, return to Captain Breandan. He asks you toconvince Fearghas to visit the tomband see it for himself. Do this, and report it to Captain Breandan tolearn the secret to obtaining the legendary sword Excalibur.
