As you explore the complex issues between the capital, Kamelot, and the other provinces inTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll notice that not everything is cut and dry. There are two sides to every issue, sometimes more, and everything is depicted in shades of grey. Finding the right course of action is nearly impossible, but we’re here to help.

One quest where you make a difficult choice is with the Menhir Rites. Reigniting the Menhir in Cuanacht gives the people hope, but also leaves them vulnerable and away from Kamelots protections. We’ll help you determine what to do after you find the tablets!

Denholm is mad that Yvain grew a moral backbone in his office.

Where To Find The Menhir Tablets

After meeting with Maggot and learning about his past through theHave A Nice Trip quest, you’ll be informed about the Menhir Rites tablets. It’s actuallyone tablet that’s been split in two, with the druids keeping one half and the kingdom of Sagremor keeping the other.

You’ll need torecover both tablets to perform the ritualthat will reignite the Menhir, but they’re deep within two sprawling dungeons.

We’ve linked to the relevant guides so you’re able to get a more detailed look at how to acquire these ancient tablets!

The Abyss Of Sagremor Menhir Tablet

North of Cuanacht,at the bottom of a pond, is the entrance to theAbyss of Sagremor. This dungeon expands from a treacherous valley into a ruined castle, where all the inhabitants are cursed to die over and over.

Some of them don’t mind, but others have gone mad over time.

While here, you’ll need tocomplete the Throne of the Depths questto receive the Cracked Menhir Tablet from King Sagremor himself after he grants you an audience with his queen.

The Corrupted Temple Menhir Tablet

Far to thewest of Cuanacht, lurking in the bog, you’llfind the Corrupted Templeentrance. Inside, the priestesses have become tainted and willattack on sight.

You have no choice but to slay them and the undead within.

You’ll need tocomplete the Deiform questto unlock the corrupted temple itself, then free the goddess within to obtain the tablet.

Should You Give The Menhir Rites Tablets To Maggot Or Denholm?

Once you have both of the Menhir Rites Tablets, you have a choice to make. You can eithergive them to Maggot and complete the ritualto save Cuanacht’s Menhir, or you canturn the tablets over to Denholm. The outcome is roughly the same regardless of your choice, but with several implications.

Before you can make the choice, you’ll need toobtain the tablets first.

Give The Tablets To Maggot

Giving the tablets toMaggot is the better option, as it reignites the Menhir in Cuanacht, giving the people hopethat Kamelot won’t take it away.Meet Maggot by the Menhir after darkto watch him complete the ritual.

As it’s completed, you’ll pass out again.

When you wake up, you get to witness an argument between a smug Yvain and a disgruntled Denholm. While Cuanacht is far from safe, you’vebought the people more timein their homeland.

You’ll miss out on the money Denholm offers if you sell out Cuanacht, but it’s a small price to pay to save the city.

Give The Tablets To Denholm

If you give the tablets to Denholm, youdoom Cuanacht’s Menhirto die–or at least that’s what you’ll let the locals believe. Denholm tells you the tablets will beused to save all the Menhir in Kamelotand across Avalon, but does little to back that up.

Despite this, the people of Cuanacht will still stay in their homeland as long as they can, though they may have even less hope than before.

Siding with Kamelotisn’t the wrong option, but itdoesn’t feel like a good one.Rather than helping people stay connected to their roots, you all but tell them that their homes and traditions don’t matter. If you’re choosing to side with Kamelot, know that it willsave you time at the expense of adventureand a diverse community.

Regardless of your choice,Yvain decides to embark on a quest for the Holy Grailto buy the people of Cuanacht more time in their homeland. The quest concludes and your next task begins.
