There are afew different classesyou can select inCrystal of Atlan, and each of those classes split into different subclasses fairly early on. Each class plays dramatically differently from each other, while the subclasses inside those classes share some similarities, but do have some smaller differences.

The Fighter class is one of themore enjoyable (and effective)to play, with a cool combination of agility and damage. It’s got a lot going for it, allowing you to juggle opponents while dealing hefty damage. It’s got area-of-effect (AoE) and single-target potential, making it easy to use in just about any situation.

Fighter Class Basics

The Fighter class is amelee-centric class that focuses on a rapid succession of hitsto constantly chunk down the enemy’s health.

Many enemies can be constantly juggled with these attacks, especially in the early game, and once you get good at moving around the fight to essentially collect the group of enemies into one big ball, you can keep them all incapacitated until they’re defeated consistently.

Much of the Fighter’s strength is going to come fromits ability to keep damage coming out at a regular click; practice dodging around the fight to engage every enemy in the beginning, and you’re going to be on your way to success.

Basic Fighter Skills

The skills you get to start as a Fighter are, for the most part, going to remain the starting skills for each of the subclasses, as well. This makes the first portion of the game a good place to get familiar with the fundamentalsof playing as a Fighter, before adding in the extra mechanics of either subclass.

Description

Soaring Fist

This is a relatively weak ability damage-wise, but its real strength lies in the fact thatit can start a juggle-combo by knocking your opponent up in the air.

Leopard Pounce

This skill isat its greatest when you’re closing a gap to an enemy; this launches you toward an enemy, and if you do make contact, it adds an extra attack. This is a good way to lead into Soaring Fist.

Crushing Fist

This isone of the AoE attacks that the Fighter starts with, and is actually usually the second one you should use in a combo. This deals damage to everyone around you.

Heavenly Kick

This is theAoE that you’re usually going to be leading into Crushing Fist with. This has a wider range, and gathers enemies closer together and into the air. Heavenly Kick > Crushing Fist is a good one-two combo.

Swallow Step

This isa skill that has a chain of attacks, with the heaviest damage at the end. This is a great combo to use on an enemy that’s currently being juggled.

Celestial Hurricane

This isan AoE attack that lasts for a few seconds, and allows you to move while it’s active. It deals constant damage and collects enemies into its effect, making it a perfect way to either collect a group, or keep a boss engaged effortlessly.

How To Play A Cloudstrider

The Cloudstrider is one of two subclass options for the Fighter, andis more focused on being flexible, compared to the Starbreaker. The Cloudstrider revolves mechanically around changing their energy forms by entering Dharma Nature.

Tiger Form | Crane Form

TheSummon Energyskill is going to accomplish this in the beginning, allowing you to enter either the Tiger Form or the Crane Form. Each of these forms is going to change how certain skills function, so knowing what you’re looking to accomplish is going to be key when deciding which form to use.

Both of these are going to be preferable in different situations, and it’s also going to largely depend on how you’ve got your Configuration set as to which is going to be best, when.

If you’re in a situation where a Boss is spewing out damage that you need to dodge, Crane Form is probably going to be what you need. If you need to spit out as much damage as you may and can afford to be less mobile, Tiger Form is the ticket.

Cloudstrider Gear And Weapons To Get

The Cloudstriderdeals Magical damage, meaning your primary attribute to increase your damage here is going to beIntelligence, rather than Strength. You’re also going to want to stackSpiritas opposed to Agility, when it comes to your Critical Hit rate.

Because of the Cloudstrider’s movement potential, you can afford tostack a little bit more heavily into damage attributes compared to things like Health, because ideally, you’re avoiding damage as opposed to tanking damage.

You’re going to replace much of your early gear semi-regularly, so focusing on what attributes you want to improve is going to give you a better idea of how to build your Fighter than focusing on chasing certain pieces of replaceable gear.

Cons Of Using The Cloudstrider

The Cloudstrider is a bit less friendly to play, compared to the Starbreaker. They have about equal potential at their peak, butin practice, the Cloudstrider is sometimes going to fall slightly behind, simply because there are going to be instances when you findyou should be in one form, but can’t swap into it in time.

That being said, with the right amount of game knowledge and skill, you may ensure that you’re in the right form the vast majority of the time, and for the best players around, Cloudstriders are going to afford them more options.

How To Play A Starbreaker

The Starbreaker subclass ismuch more focused on doing one thing well, and that thing is dealing damage. Its intention is to be right up on the enemy, keeping them from having any moment of peace.

Core Engine

Mechanically, theStarbreaker revolves around the Core Engine, which is displayed above their ability bar and will fill as they hit enemies. This Core Engine is then going topower up certain skills, activating extra effects or enhancing the damage.

For your rotation, you would generally like to beconstantly filling and using these Cores. This will mean constantly landing hits on enemies, using skills like Flaming Hook or Scarlet Cometto utilize those Cores, and repeating.

The skills listed above also grant a bonus shield when used in PvE content, and when utilizing Cores. This is going to make it easier for you to stick in the thick of things, rather than needing to dodge out to restart a rotation.

Starbreaker Gear And Weapons To Get

The Starbreakerdeals Physical damage, meaning you’ll want to stackStrength and Agility, as opposed to Intelligence and Spirit.

On top of that, Starbreakers are likely going to be hit more often than their Cloudstrider counterparts. Some of that is going to be offset by the shields that they can create, butstacking HP and Damage Reduction can be helpful in staying alive.

Cons Of Using The Starbreaker

Starbreakers areless flexible than Cloudstriders, and in situations where staying up close and dealing the kind of constant melee damage they need to deal is difficult, Starbreakers can have a difficult time.

You’ll be dodging less often, and that meansyou’ll need to ensure you’re dodging out of the way at the right time; not needlessly canceling a rotation, but also not taking unnecessary damage, either.
