WhenKingdom Come: Deliverancefirst launched it turned a lot of heads. Not a lot of games or developers were doing the medieval survival story as uniquely and detailed as Warhorse Studios was. They really did their homework, and it showed. There’s an impressive amount of attention to detail given to everything from your simple smithies, to the tiny little greebles and scrimshawing on armor pieces.

The first game also sold itself on a steep learning curve with some real thought put into the mechanics, and the sequel looks to be more of the same plus a ton of improvements. The writings also been given a big healthy jolt of creativity as the story picks up back where the first game left things, and it’s all chaos and chivalry from there onwards. For those whose curiosity has been piqued by this game, here’s a helpful rundown of if Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is worth it.

At The Gamer, our editor Sam Hallahan took a look in his helpfulreview of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2and came away extremely positive about his experience with it. Praise was given to the games attention to detail, especially in the scope and scale of locations such as cities.

A great in-depth RPG for fans who are underwhelmed with more recent RPGS.

Sam also complimented the performances of the main cast, as well as the immersive nature of simple tasks such as just walking through the woods as you explore the large areas.

The only criticisms were of small issues. Such as slight asides about small technical hiccups encountered at times, and the occasional lighting bug. But, Sams overall opinion was this is a sequel you don’t want to miss out on.

How Long Does It Take To Beat Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

If you’re in need of something slow burn then you’re definitely getting your moneys with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as it’s a very, very long game. Not only is itslow pacedand painstakingly in depth at times, but even something as small as a simple sidequest can involve multiple hours to complete. But here’s what the average times from the games community are saying.

First up we have the target time for just completing the main story by going from point to point. For this you’re looking at around 50 to 52 hours. But if you decide to wander off and do some side quests, well then you’re looking at a substantially higher time of around 90 hours or more depending on the missions. Finally, for a completionist run you’re able to expect a minimum of at least 125 hours or more to get absolutely everything there is. Which will take a while as there’s lots of quests, characters and items tucked away in small spots in the game.

What Does It Cost?

So Kingdom Come: Deliverance is quite a long game, and it’s certainly got quite the asking price. At launch, not including sales, the game is retailing at full big title price. Considering how much you’re getting that isn’t including future DLC’s, it’s a fair amount to pay out. Maybe not one for tight game budgets, but if you’ve got the money to burn on something new it’s definitely worth considering.

What Players Are Saying

Now that we’ve collated all that lovely data together, it’s worth getting a few opinions on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 directly from the horse’s mouth. In this case it’s the various team members of The Gamer that have had some hands-on time with the game.

Here’s what they thought:

Edward Case - Contributor

Having experienced the trial by fire that was the first game, I fully expected the same from the sequel. But I was pleasantly surprised. Like any follow-up to a hugely successful game, there’s also a plentiful supply of quality of life fixes. From the big to the small, it all gels together now to create an experience I just can’t quite seem to put down.

From the historical inspired vistas, to the slightly trimmed back but still satisfying combat, the problems of the past have gone and in their place is something great. Whether you’re a historian that likes immersing themselves in period themed games, or just a fan of an open-world RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 certainly delivers.
