It’s anybody’s guess whenGrand Theft Auto 6will finally launch. Only yesterday, a trusted source reported thatRockstar may further push the gamefrom itsMay 2026 release dateto September. Considering the hype it has received just from two trailers, and even all the scrutiny. It’s understandable that the devs will want to take their time.
However, when it finally does launch, you can expect the entire industry to go on a collective sick leave. WithGTA Online,Rockstarensured that fans never stop playing after completing the campaign, and you can be sure that it will do the same with GTA 6 Online. While we know nothing of the online mode for the next game, it looks like the studio is already laying the groundwork.
GTA 6 Online Is Already In The Works And Will Feature User Content
Of course, we all assumed that GTA 6 Online is undoubtedly in development, but we haven’t got any official word of it. As spotted byPCGamesN, it looks like Rockstar is getting to work on the next iteration of GTA Online. The studio has posted two job openings on its website, one for asenior product managerin Manhattan and the other for anassociate compliance managerin Bangalore.
Both job descriptions are worded in a way to suggest that they will primarily be focussed the next iteration of GTA Online. “Passion for gaming, sandbox games, modding, and user-generated content and the communities that coalesce around them,” reads the description for the senior product manager post. That definitely sounds like GTA Online.
However, both job descriptions also mention user-generated content. While this could mean a lot of things, it could point to the game having modding tools and custom mission creators for GTA 6 Online. Of course, we can’t say this with certainty, but we can be sure that Rockstar has plans to make sure the community sticks with GTA 6 Online for years to come.
The original iteration of GTA Online came two weeks after the launch of GTA 5, but considering how massive GTA 6 will probably be, perhaps Rockstar will hold off a bit longer this time.
