Prismatic serves asDestiny 2’sversion of multiclassing, allowing Guardians to mix and match abilities from other subclasses to create the ultimate build. This customization extends to the Exotic class item as well, the game’s first armor Exotic to feature random rolls. And unlike other armor Exotics, the Exotic class item drops with two perks, not just one.
Relativism is arguably the strongest Exotic class item of the bunch. Available to Prismatic Hunters, this cloak has ample options for ability spam builds, weapon platforms, and even neutral game benefits for Crucible players. Today, we’ll be looking at the strongest combinations you should be farming for in Dual Destiny and Xur’s shop whenever the cloak’s available. But first, let’s go over all the perks that can drop on Relativism.
Finishers and powered melee final blows grant invisibility.
Spirit Of The Star-Eater
While your Super is charged, Orbs of Power will increase the damage of your next Super, up to +70% at x6 stacks.
All weapons gain +35 handling.
Spirit Of Verity
Grenade kills that match your Super element grant an escalating grenade damage and regeneration bonus, up to +100% damage.
Spirit Of Inmost Light
Casting an ability increases the regeneration speed of your other abilities by +400%. Stacks x2 times. Class abilities recharge 25% faster per stack instead.
Spirit Of Synthoceps
While 3+ enemies are within 15m, your melee attacks deal +165% damage and Glaives deal +100% damage.
Powered melee final blows trigger an ignition.
Spirit Of The Liar
Receiving melee damage or dealing powered melee damage grants Cross Counter. Melee while it’s active to perform an Arc melee strike with 200% damage effectiveness.
Spirit Of Renewal
YourDuskfield Grenadegrants Frost Armor to allies within; PvE enemies inside deal 50% less damage.
Gain an additional class ability charge.
Spirit Of The Foetracer
Dealing ability damage to a Major+ grants a 25% Surge buff of that element for 15 seconds.
Grenade abilities grant Woven Mail for 10 seconds.
Spirit Of The Dragon
Using your class ability reloads all weapons and grants +100 reload, handling, and 30% faster swap animations for 10 seconds.
Using your class ability restores 45 HP.
Spirit Of Galanor
Dealing damage with your Super refunds Super energy once it ends, up to 50%.
Spirit Of The Gyrfalcon
Gain Volatile Rounds for 10 seconds upon breaking invisibility.
Relativismis stacked with good perk options. Hunters can lean heavily into ability spam, weapon damage, or buff their neutral game to absurd levels. Nearly everyPrismatic Hunter buildwill want to use the class item in some capacity.
For PvE builds, one of the large standouts here isSpirit Of Calibanwith eitherSpirit Of SynthocepsorSpirit Of The Liar. Caliban causes your powered melee kills to trigger Solar explosions, which you can pair withCombination Blowto recreate Arcstrider’s melee gameplay loop but with Prismatic’s stronger Fragments and Transcendence mode. Liars is better for single-target punch damage, while Synthoceps doubles as a damage buff forGrapplemelee.
Combination Blow builds ramp up slowly in fireteam activities, so if you’re looking for an ability-centric class item tailored more for group play, you’re able to runSpirit Of Inmost LightwithSpirit Of The Cyrtarachne. You’ll gain your abilities back absurdly fast thanks to Inmost Light, which means you’ll constantly have Woven Mail active through Cyrtarachne. This combination is perfect for Ascension and Threaded Spike builds.
If you want a class item that buffs your survivability, consider runningSpirit Of RenewalandSpirit Of The Cyrtarachne. A single Duskfield Grenade will give five stacks of Frost Armor and Woven Mail, two of the strongest DR keywords in the game.
Weapon-focused builds can also get some usage out of the class item.Spirit Of The FoetracerandSpirit Of The Gyrfalconis a fantastic combination here, asStylish Executionerwill constantly refresh Gyrfalcon to create an infinite feedback loop. And since Volatile explosions count as ability damage, your Void weapons will gain a constant 25% surge buff. Throw on a source of Radiant to further boost your weapon DPS.
Crucible players aren’t left out either.Spirit Of The OphidianandSpirit Of The Coyoteis a fantastic neutral game combination that lets you utilize any dodge-related Aspects more often. There’s also a case forSpirit Of The Wormhuskin the second column over Coyote, although we find the second dodge charge to be more useful than the small amount of HP restored on dodge.
Caliban And Liar
Most players who’ve looked at Prismatic Hunter builds have probably seen aCombination Blowbuild at some point. It’s considered one of the strongest solo builds for Hunter, and for good reason. Your melee damage scales with each stack of Combination Blow, yet the skill lacks any form of AoE damage. That’s whereSpirit Of Calibancomes in, triggering a massive Solar Ignition with each melee kill.
These explosions give you strong add clear potential once Combination Blow is stacked. Ramping up your melee can prove tricky, so we recommend pairing Caliban withSpirit Of The LiarorSpirit Of Synthoceps. Liar’s Handshake is usually a better option since its proc condition is something you may control and doesn’t suffer from diminishing returns like Synthoceps does. However, a roll with Synthoceps will buff the damage of yourGrapplemelee punches, so they’re effectively sidegrades; use whichever you prefer.
Inmost Light And Cyrtarachne
As strong as the punch build is,Combination Blowstruggles to ramp up stacks in harder content where you’re competing with teammates for kills. In such cases, you can runSpirit Of Inmost LightwithSpirit Of The Cyrtarachneinstead. This class item was made for Ascension builds, giving you max empowered stacks forGrapplewhenever you castThreaded Spike. Throw a dart, cast Ascension, throw another dart, grapple onto a Tangle, and repeat. Inmost Light will ensure one of your abilities is charged by the time you need it.
Grappling around the battlefield will then proc Cyrtarachne for a free 45% damage resistance buff for 10 seconds. So long as you use your grapple on Tangles first, you’ll constantly have this buff active. And should your grenade run out of energy, you’re able to always activate Transcendence and get Woven Mail through your dual-element grenade.
Foetracer And Gyrfalcon
Weapon builds aren’t as popular these days with the advent of ability spam in Final Shape, but Hunters can make weapon-centric builds workon Prismatic. Arguably the strongest combination for such a build isSpirit Of The FoetracerwithSpirit Of The Gyrfalcon. If you runStylish Executionerand get it to trigger once, Gyrfalcon will constantly activate whenever you shoot to break invisibility.
Volatile Rounds double as a great source of AoE damage and a way to proc invisibility. More importantly,Volatile explosions count as ability damage. This means if you trigger a Volatile explosion on a yellow bar, it will activate Foetracer’s surge damage bonus, granting all Void weapons a 25% damage bonus for 15 seconds. It’s the easiest way to min-max surges in the game and takes virtually no effort.
Galanor And Star-Eater
While not a meta-defining perk combination,Spirit Of GalanorwithSpirit Of The Star-Eaterserves as a strong swap Exotic for your Super. Star-Eater will drastically increase the damage of your equipped Super, notablyGolden Gun - MarksmanandSilkstrike. Galanor will then refund Super energy for each instance of damage dealt, up to a max of 50% once the Super ends. If you like spamming powerful Supers, this is a class item roll worth chasing.
Ophidian And Coyote
PvP builds will likely wantSpirit Of The OphidianandSpirit Of The Coyoteif they aren’t already usingSt0mp-EE5or another dedicated Exotic. Ophidian gives you a passive boost to weapon handling that works with all weapons. A second dodge charge through Coyote is useful for triggering dodge Aspects likeThreaded Specterand Ascension. It’s not the most exciting combination, but as far as neutral game buffs are concerned, it’s difficult to compete with this.
