Red Dead Redemptionfans, some “exciting news” is on the way. But don’t take it from us, take it from Rob Wiethoff, the iconic actor of John Marston.

Earlier on Saturday, during a Twitch stream, Wiethoff said he’s got “such exciting news” that he can’t share, and it’s killing him. Wiethoff added that fans will find out soon, hopefully, before Friday.

“I cannot wait for you to know what’s going on, and that’s all I can say,” Wiethoff said. “… I truly cannot think about anything else, especially playing this game (Red Dead Redemption). I can’t think of anything else, other than what I want to tell you so bad.”

Wiethoff’s excitement comes at a particularly interesting time, as in mid-Mayit was rumored that Red Dead Redemption 2 would not only get its long-awaited 60fps patch for current-gen hardware, as well as a port to the recently released Nintendo Switch 2.

The news, which quickly made headlines, shared that aSwitch 2version of the 2018 prequel was in the works, though an exact release date or window wasn’t revealed. As for the current-gen patch, that bit is also unclear, but when it seemingly does arrive, it’ll let players finally experience the game at an increased framerate.

Those rumors follow another batch of Rockstar-related teases as, a few days before the Red Dead news began circulating,it was reported that Grand Theft Auto 4 would be getting a port to both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is readily available onPCand onXboxvia its backwards compatibility program.

Either way, it looks like it won’t be long until we find out one way or the other whether the existing rumors are true, or it’s all simply smoke and mirrors for something less exciting. Next week can’t come soon enough.
