Late last week, Rob Wiethoff, theactor behind John Marston, sent theRed Dead Redemptioncommunity into a frenzywhen he teased that “exciting news” that he “cannot wait” for fans to find out is on the way. A few days after that,Roger Clark and Noshir Dalal, the actors behind Arthur Morgan and Charles, respectively, also teased thebignews, only adding more fuel to the fire.
Unfortunately, it seems that massive news is nothing more than a reunion for the cast behind bothRed Dead Redemptionand its prequel/sequelRed Dead Redemption 2.
Indeed, according to the National Gaming Expo, a convention held in Florida, multiple members of the Red Dead franchise will be there for fans to meet, including Wiethoff.
While the news may come off as extremely disappointing to hardcore fans, it’s also worth considering that for Wiethoff and his fellow actors, the news, to them, could have been massive on the basis that it’s super hard to organize so many people in one place, coupled with the fact that they likely haven’t been together in-person in some time.
Prior to Wiethoff’s tease,it was rumored that Red Dead Redemption 2 would get two major content announcements. The first being the long-awaited 60fps patch for current-gen hardware, with the second being a port to the recently released Nintendo Switch 2.
Wiethoff’s own excitement led fans to believe that the rumors were true, and that news about the beloved franchise was imminent. Those rumors, plus existing word that Grand Theft Auto 4 would be ported to the PlayStation 4 and Switch, had fans thinking Rockstar was more than making upfor the delay of GTA 6.
However, rumors are just that … rumors. Guess we’ll have to keep waiting for that fabled 60fps patch.
