Pokemon TCG Pocket’sExtradimensional Crisis set further explores the Alola region and the Ultra Beasts that keep popping out of wormholes. With powerful Pokemon ex, Supporters, and Pokemon Tools at your disposal, your deck is ready for some serious upgrades.
Of course, one of the best parts about Pokemon TCG Pocket is the special cards you’re able to pull if you’re lucky. You can find shiny variants of some of the best Pokemon from previous sets and majestic full arts. With enough pulls, your deck can get rarity maxed for you to show off to the world. So, what are the rarest cards in the set to keep an eye out for?
10The Art Rare Gallery
Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art Never Fails To Impress
There are six non-ex art rare cards to keep a lookout for om Extradimensional Crisis. While the Ultra Beast cards make the dark feel vibrant and alive, cards like Alolan Meowth and Rowlet feel more homely. It’s never a dull moment in Alola.
Considering Decidueye ex is a powerhouse, it is neat to have a Rowlet you can show off as part of the deck. Even though it is not particularly powerful, Alolan Meowth perfectly displays the kind of summer you wish you could have.
9The Trainer Gallery
Cards Bursting With Personality
There are some notable generation seven characters that were missing fromthe Celestial Guardians set. Extradimensional Crisis fills the gap with the addition of Aether Foundation characters such as Gladion and Lusamine. You even have Looker investigate the wormhole phenomenon.
The most notable of the three is Lusamine, as she allows you to recycle two Energy at a time from the discard pile. So, if any of your Ultra Beasts find themselves knocked out, the Energy attached to them can still be put to use.
8Tapu Koko Ex
A Fast-Charging Pokemon Ex
Pokemon exare always pretty difficult to come across, with each variant being more elusive than the last. Like most Pokemon ex in this set, Tapu Koko ex has a standard double rare, an ultra rare with a colored backdrop, and a special illustration of some sort.
Tapu Koko ex is particularly fast at charging up. This shows in its special art rare, where it can be seen gathering up Energy by the sea. By the second turn, you may slap down some Energy, this card will be ready to start smacking your opponent for 90 damage.
7Lycanroc Ex
Ready To How At The Sky
If you howl, you’re bound to get other dogs copying you. Lycanroc ex can answer the call whenever Celestial Guardian’s Rockruff uses Signs of Evolution. This Pokemon looks majestic as it howls upon its rock. It’s a neat display of the rocky terrains on some of Alola’s Islands.
Lycanrock ex has a pretty powerful bite. The only thing it lacks is a way toget more Energy at a faster rate. The fact that it is easily searchable means you can flex this card often if you happen to pull it from a pack.
6Guzzlord Ex
Team Rocket Grunt Every Turn
Guzzlord Ex has the potential to drain all of your opponent’s Energy in one turn. If you thought Team Rocket Grunt could be annoying, try testing your luck every single turn. Guzzlord ex can keep your opponent suppressed before dealing a finishing blow with Tyrannical Hole.
The special art rare variant of this card is a real treat to look at. It may be difficult to find, but seeing that cosmic horror lurking around the city at night is worth it. Even with the super rare variant, the red background really helps the card pop out.
5Alolan Dugtrio Ex
Tiny Heads Popping Out
Alolan Dugtrio has a majestic head of hair. This Steel-type has the potential to deal 180 damage for only two Energy. Of course, it wouldn’t be part of the Diglett family without a few coin flips involved in the process.
Alolan Dugtrio has a tropical aethstetic that uses Alola’s foliage to give us a refreshing art piece. It makes you wish you could visit the beach and watch the sun go down. For now though, you can just add this to your collection and admire it whenever you get in the mood for sunsets.
4Buzzwole Ex
The Best Pokemon Ex In Extradimensional Crisis Gets The Best Art
Buzzwole ex is the card that gets the immersive art rare slot for this set. While the super rare variant looks great, the immersive art goes perfectly with the theme for the set. Turn on the animation, and you get a glimpse of all the Ultra Beasts as they descend upon Alola.
The immersive art is just too cool for its own good. It depicts a city on the verge of crisis. As the Ultra Beasts make landfall, all the lights go out, leaving only red emergency beacons illuminated. This is one of the best immersive arts yet.
3The Shiny Gallery
Every Shiny In Extradimensional Crisis
There are ten non-ex shiny Pokemon in Extradimensional Crisis. This includes Pokemon that were popular during the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island era. One of the best shiny Pokemon in the set is Greninja, with its sleek black color palette making it cool as it is deadly.
Other tricky shiny Pokemon include the pink Aerodactyl and Pidgeot which can shuffle other cards around the field or send them back into the deck. The best part about the shiny gallery in Extradimensional Crisis is that they aren’t all green.
2Shiny Pokemon Ex Gallery
The Hardest Pokemon Ex To Pull
Even rarer than the standard shiny gallery are the four Pokemon ex in the shiny super rare category. These are some powerful Pokemon such as Celebi ex and Arcanine ex. These Pokemon ex reflect their non-ex counterparts and are a nice addition to your collection.
Pink Celebi and Aerodactyl ex have the best color swaps from this category. It also helps that Celebi ex is a Basic Pokemon and Aerodactyl only requires the fairly common Amber Fossil to see play. So it’s not too difficult to rarity max these two.
1Nihilego
Extradimensional Crisis’ Crown Rare
Every set includes acrown rare card. Extradimensional Crisis contains a golden Nihilego to add to your stash of rarest cards. Nihilengo is an excellent tech card for any deck that uses Poison to bring down their opponents.
Its Ability, More Poison, makes it so the Special Condition does an additional ten damage between turns. As a Basic Pokemon, you can just slip a copy into your deck, search it out with Poke Ball, and start watching your opponent’s Pokemon get weaker with every turn.
