Baldur’s Gate 3is set in a dangerous world containing murderers, cultists, tyrants, vengeful gods, monsters, and all sorts of other deadly things. This is likely why many of the main characters are handy in a fight, as they wouldn’t survive otherwise. They all have different powers and abilities. As a result, an ordinary human being like myself would stand no chance in a fight against any of them. In fact, I wouldn’t last long at all if they attacked.

Yet, not all of them would attack instantly. They would only attack under specific circumstances or in a particular way. So, taking those things into account, here is a collection of the main characters ranked by how quickly they’d kill me.

9Wyll, Gale, Karlach, Halsin, And Jahiera

Won’t Want To Kill Me

Several main characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, namely Wyll, Gale, Karlach, Halsin, and Jahiera, only get violent when needed. They save their incredible combat talents for those who deserve it. Therefore, as long as I’m friendly and kind, none of these characters will do me any harm.

Jahiera may be initially untrusting of me, and I may burn if I try to hug Karlach, but neither will attempt to gut me. Gale and Halsin would be very warm and kind, while Wyll is more likely to defend than attack. This is why some of these areexcellent romance options.

8Minsc

Depends On Boo

Minsc is a bit of a wildcard. He is generally friendly and jovial. However, he’s also not the smartest, and he listens to what his hamster friend Boo says.

This is the concerning part as if Boo considers me a problem, Minsc may kill me immediatley. And it’s hard to get a true read on Boo since only Minsc can communicate with him. Therefore, I can’t actually win the little creature over; I just have to hope he likes me or that Minsc thinks he likes me. So, my life when meeting Minsc depends on a hamster.

7Shadowheart

Don’t Insult Shar

Shadowheart is generally a warm and non-violent character. Despite this, there is a reason why she can bea decent companion for an evil playthrough. Shar has slightly corrupted her and, in the early stages of the game, she is a devoted follower of their cause.

If I stay away from the topic, we will get on fine. If, however, I mention that the Church of Shar sounds a lot like a cult, there may be issues. She still likely wouldn’t go for the kill straight away, but she may eventually snap.

6Minthara

Starts With Insults, But May Go Further

It’s pretty difficult to assess how quickly Minthara would slaughter me. She is one of the meanest and most hostile characters, especially for someone who is not technically a villain. That said, she isn’t very quick to violence.

She is more likely to insult and talk down to me than actually kill me. That is only if I choose my words carefully, though. If I insult her, then I may see a more aggressive side to Minthara, and I wouldn’t be long for this world.

5Enver Gortash

Manipulates Before Killing

Gortash might be one of the main villains of the game, but he isn’t quick to violence. Instead, the guy is a bit of a smooth talker and manipulator. So, he will likely try to use me to do his bidding instead of attacking me.

Yet, once I’m no longer useful to him, he may get rid of me somehow, even if he uses someone else to do it. That won’t be great, but at least I’ll get a bit of time to live before that.

4Ketheric Thorm

It’s Risky To Fail Him

Ketheric Thorm has a lot of people doing his and the Absolute’s bidding. He wants to get hold of the Astral Prism and reunite with his daughter, who is actively working against him. Therefore, if he doesn’t kill me instantly, he will likely order me to do one of those two things.

Unfortunately, though, I wouldn’t be able to wrestle the artifact off Shadowheart, nor would I be capable of forcing Isobel to return to her father. This means I would have to return to Ketheric Thorm empty-handed, and he would likely sentence me to death.

3Astarion

A Vampire Has To Feed

As Astarion is a vampire, he isn’t someone who would likely attack straight away. After all, he doesn’t just want to stab me in the gut. He will want to bite my neck and suck my blood. He typically does this byusing his charming wordsto win people over and lure them to where he needs them to be.

This is likely what he would do to me, and when I’m in a vulnerable position, he will drink a large amount of my blood, murdering me in the process. At least he’s doing it for sustenance.

2Orin

Takes Her Time

No Baldur’s Gate 3 character would want to kill me as much as Orin. This is because she is incredibly bloodthirsty and revels in the pain of others. Despite this, she is not likely to murder me right away. Orin typically likes to play with her victims first, putting them through mental and physical torture.

As a result, she would take a bit of time before actually killing me. Perhaps she will mess with my head by shapeshifting into someone I know or inflict a significant amount of pain before putting me out of my misery. She’d definitely be the worst Baldur’s Gate 3 character to meet.

1Lae’zel

Quick To Violence

Anyone who isn’t either a member of the Githyanki race or useful in some way is in trouble around Lae’zel. She hates seemingly every other race and isn’t shy about showing it with either her words or blade.

The warrior is also quick to anger, and it doesn’t take a lot for her to get violent. Therefore, she will likely kill me almost instantly after meeting me. I may get a little bit of conversation in, but as soon as she’s bored with that, I will likely be in trouble.
