Fatalities have been in theMortal Kombatseries since the very first game. These brutal finishes are a key part of the MK experience and one of the reasons the fighting series became popular in the first place. Over the years, the fatalities have gotten more devastating and gory. And you wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end of any of them.
That said, being a victim of certain ones would be much worse than others. After all, there are several where the victim doesn’t die straight away, so your suffering would be drawn out. Here is a collection of fatalities, ranked by how much anguish you would have to endure before you died.
8Prince Of Pain - Goro
Mortal Kombat 1
Goro’s fatality in Mortal Kombat 1 begins with him grabbing you with his bottom two arms. Then, with his top two hands, he quickly squashes your head into mush before ripping your body in two.
It isn’t the nicest way to go. Yet, at least it’s really quick. You will be killed once he squishes your head, meaning you’d already be dead by the time he starts ripping your torso in two. So, it might be one ofthe more gory fatalities in the game, but at least you’re dead for most of it.
7Spine Rip - Sub Zero
Original Mortal Kombat
Spine Rip is the most famous fatality in the Mortal Kombat series. It’s the move first seen in the original game, where Sub-Zero grabs your head and pulls your entire spine out. It’s horrific to watch and wouldn’t be the nicest move to be on the receiving end of.
That said, your life would be over quickly. Sub-Zero does the fatality in one quick motion. He grabs your head and then simply pulls your spine. It’s like ripping off a band-aid, except far more painful.
6Selfie - Cassie Cage
Mortal Kombat 10
The charismatic Cassie Cage only hits you once in her selfie fatality. However, it’s a hell of a hit with her baton, as it rips your jaw off your body. She then takes a selfie with you and posts it on social media.
Your jaw getting ripped off would hurt very badly, but it may not kill you instantly. So, you may be in agonizing pain as Cassie takes a selfie before you finally bleed out. The lack of you being put out of your misery makes this one more drawn out.
5Kiss Of Death - Sonya Balde
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Sonya Blade has always been one ofthe most iconic female characters in the series, and throughout her appearances, she has utilized multiple versions of the Kiss of Death. The one in Deadly Alliance has her blow a kiss at you, and when it hits, you begin to spew vomit everywhere before it turns to blood. Then, after a few seconds, she jumps on you to finish you off.
It’s unclear exactly what happens to your insides. However, the fact that you start vomiting blood is a sign that things are bad. In the process, you’re likely to be in unfathomable anguish for several seconds before she finally finishes you off.
4Voodoo Doll - Ashrah
Mortal Kombat: Deception
As the name of the fatality suggests, Ashrah uses a Voodoo Doll for this move. She stabs it multiple times, and your body parts pop off in the process.
She does it one at a time, so the process takes several seconds to complete. During it, you will be screaming in pain. After all, your limbs are coming off, and blood is spewing from them. Eventually, you fall down dead. Before that, though, it will feel like you’re being tortured.
3Toasty! - Scorpion
Mortal Kombat 2011
Scorpion brings back one of his classic fatalities in 2011’s Mortal Kombat game. He simply uses his fire-conjuring skills to burn you up. Unlike in the early games, you don’t just die instantly. Instead, you burn for a few seconds before dying.
Burning to death is one of the worst ways to die. So, being on the receiving end of Scorpion’s Toasty! fatality seems like it would be an incredibly painful experience, and it certainly wouldn’t be a quick death.
2Bug Eyes - Raiden
For his Bug Eyes fatality, Raiden grabs your head and fires enough electricity into your body that your eyes pop out. Once your eyes pop, you’re sure to be dead. Before that, though, you will feel the full force of the shock as it fries the inside of your head.
This must be extremely painful, and you have to endure it for several seconds. With moves like this, it’s no wonder Raiden is often ranked amongthe most powerful characters in the MK series.
1New Species - D’Vorah
Mortal Kombat 11
D’Vorah begins the New Species fatality by stabbing you in the shoulders with her pincers. Then, she spits acid into your mouth and face. To finish, a bug creature breaks itself out of your torso.
Only when the birth occurs are you likely to be killed. Therefore, you have to suffer for a while, and you’re dealing with different sorts of pain. After all, your shoulders have been impaled, and you have acid in your mouth. If anything, you will be looking forward to the creature busting its way out of your torso.
