A lot of video game characters are special. They can pull off incredible feats because of their seemingly superhuman levels of strength, durability, and speed. Even the greatest athletes on the face of the Earth can’t do some of the things gaming heroes can do.

Yet, not all of their signature moves are impossible to achieve in real life. Yes, we regular people can’t fly or shoot lasers out of our eyes, but we can do some of the things they do. Here is a range of their signature moves, from pretty much unachievable to very doable.

Scorpion using his kunai in Mortal Kombat 11.

8"Get Over Here"

Mortal Kombat Series

One ofthe most famous quotes in gaming historycomes from Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion when he says, “Get Over Here.” He does this when he throws his kunai blade, which is attached to a rope or a chain, across the stage, into his opponent’s chest, and then drags them towards him.

Now, the dragging part, once the blade is in your enemy’s chest, is doable. The bit before that, though, is the tricky part. Throwing the kunai with enough power that it’s able to stick in a person’s chest from a long distance seems pretty much impossible.

Altair leaping toward a target with his hidden blade extended in Assassin’s Creed.

7Air Assassination

Assassin’s Creed Series

The main move the Assassins in Assassin’s Creed are known for is the leap of faith. However, that would be certain death if you tried that in real life. Something that is perhaps at least possible, if done from a small height, is the air assassination.

This is a move that allthe best protagonists in the seriescan pull off, where you jump down on somebody and stab them in the neck as you land. This would probably hurt your ankles a lot, and timing it so that you’re ready to stab as you land would be very hard.

Batman hanging down, ready to grab a guy in Batman Arkham Asylum.

6Inverted Takedown

Batman: Arkham Series

Batman has all sorts of tricks to dispatch enemies in the Arkham games. Arguably, his most effective move, though, is the Inverted Takedown. This is where he hangs off a ledge using his grapple hook, slides down, grabs his target with his cloak, pulls him up, and ties him to the grapple hook before letting him dangle.

He manages to do all of this in a matter of seconds. Even if you gave me all the time in the world, I don’t think I could do it. After all, it would take extreme strength, agility, and timing to pull all of this off.

Max Payne jumping and shooting in the air in Bullet Time in Max Payne 3.

5Bullet Time (Without Slow-Mo)

Max Payne Series

Okay, it is physically impossible to slow down time, so you can ignore that bit of bullet time. Instead, focus on what else Max Payne does while performing his signature move. He jumps through the air, firing his guns at the enemy.

The actual act is doable, albeit it’s unclear how you would absorb the recoil of the guns if you’re mid-air. Also, shooting accurately seems very much impossible. Therefore, parts of this can be done, but not quite like Max Payne does.

Super Mario jumping on a Koopa Troopa in Super Mario 3D World.

4Jumping On An Enemy’s Head

Super Mario Series

Mario might be just a plumber, but he can do some impressive things during the Mario games. His most basic attack, though, is jumping on enemies’ heads. How easy this is to do depends on how small your enemy is.

The Goombas and Koopas that Mario faces are pretty small. So, leaping on top of them might be possible. Yet, having the leaping ability to jump on top of a person’s head seems almost impossible unless you’re the greatest athlete in the world.

Lin performing a spin attack in Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

3Spin Attack

The Legend Of Zelda Series

Link from The Legend of Zelda series isn’t the most physicallyimpressive hero gaming has ever seen. Therefore, we should be pretty much as capable as he is. His signature move is a spin attack that he does with a sword. It’s exactly as it sounds: he spins with a sword in his hands.

The actual movement is just spinning. However, doing that quickly with a giant sword in your hands seems like it would be very tricky. Perhaps it’s not impossible if you’re strong enough, but it will be challenging.

Snake sneaking in a box in Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain.

2Hide In A Cardboard Box

Metal Gear Solid Series

Solid Snake is an unbelievable stealth operative who has saved the world several times with limited supplies and little backup. His signature move, though, is hiding in a cardboard box.

He crouches down and puts the box over his body to remain hidden from the guards. That seems pretty easy to do as long as you have a big enough box. Whether the guards fall for it or not depends on their intelligence.

An Objection in the Ace Attorney series.

1Shouting Objection

Ace Attorney Series

Getting a law degree and becoming a lawyer is very difficult. Yet, the main characters of the Ace Attorney series have already done all that prior to the events of the game. Their signature move in the games is standing up and shouting the word “objective” while pointing.

That is very easy to do. Timing it right so you’re doing it when it’s appropriate might be more difficult, but the actual action is easy. So, if they’re flexible about the law degree and knowledge of the law, we could all feature in any of the Ace Attorney games.
