Summary
The 12 coreDungeons & Dragonsclasses are extremely diverse, mostly in terms of the skills they offer and the overall flavor they add to any character concept. But, they’re also extremely different in terms of how badly I would want to date them. After all, we have to admit it might be a bit different dating a barbarian as opposed to a wizard.
So, what’s the definitive ranking of dateability in the Dungeons & Dragons classes? Well, we’re about to find out with this definitive list, which has obviously been carefully researched. Here’s every DND class ranked by how fun they’d be to date.
12Druid
Too Outdoorsy For My Taste
This first class on the list comes down to my personal taste. If I can be quite honest with you all, I’m not much of an outdoors person, and if you’re reading a list about Dungeons & Dragons classes, my guess is neither are you.
At the end of the day, while I have nothing against druids, I’m not really interested in living nomadically. It would never work out between us long-term. Though I’m sure you’d get the best bouquets from dating a druid.
11Barbarian
I’m Not Ready To Join A Clan
Believe it or not, a little too rough and tumble for my taste. Plus, everyone knows that meeting your partner’s family can be the worst. What happens if you have to meet their entire clan?
Frankly, as an indoor kid too, I don’t think I would really attract a barbarian, or impress their clan in any way, shape, or form. I think we’d likely be better off as friends. Plus, that barbarian rage means that your fights would probably be a bit much to have to deal with.
10Warlock
Three’s A Crowd
Have you ever dated someone who was really close with a friend of theirs? Like really, really close, and it feels like maybe something is going on there? Now imagine that, but with a supernatural entity of eldritch horror. That’s what it’d be like to date a warlock.
I don’t want to have to compete for attention withtheir warlock patron. If we’re going to be in a relationship, I need to be the first priority, okay? Is that so much to ask?
9Paladin
Would You Break Your Oath For Me?
A little too sanctimonious, perhaps. Not just because they’re a religious figure, but those oaths feel like they could cause problems down the road. Dating someone who is principled is great. But, you don’t have to be so serious about it all the time?
Paladins do get some bonus points for the whole ‘knight in shining armor’ thing. I mean, you’d basically get to live out the fantasy of being rescued all the time.
8Cleric
I Don’t Think I Can Convert
Similarly to paladins, I’m not sure I want to date someone who’s always going to be more focused on their deity than me. This also harkens back to the same complaint I have about warlocks. What if I want to hang out, but you need to commune with your god?
However, similarly to paladins, there’s something about dating someone with a suit of armor, a shield, and a crest that’s very appealing. Plus, they could probably fix you with allthat healing magic.
7Ranger
Are You A Pet Person?
I’m personally a big animal person, and rangers can be a bit more indoorsy perhaps, than a druid. I love the idea of dating someone who has a cute relationship with their pet. However, I do also worry that the animal might get defensive, especially depending on the type of animal companion they have.
After all, a ranger with a pet bird or dog; that’s adorable! A ranger with a giant, vicious panther at their side that’s always giving you the stink eye? Less cute!
6Fighter
Middle Of The Road
As is the case most of the time, fighters fall squarely in the middle of the road for me. While I think this is a great class, I’m not sure there are any specific pros or cons I can think of to dating them. They fight well, sure, but what’s going on underneath all that armor?
That being said, sometimes stability is the best thing in a partner, and fighters, writ large, seem relatively squared away. I don’t think there would necessarily be any huge problems with fighters, but I’m not entirely seduced by the idea.
5Monk
Good With Their Hands
They’re gonna spend all their focus points on you. Now, on the more positive side of the list, I think there’s something very appealing about dating a monk who’s good with their hands. Plus, they have unarmored defense, which means they probably don’t have a ton of emotional walls up around them.
I will say there are probablysome monk subclassesthat are better than others. Way of the long death doesn’t sound like an appealing person to date. Way of the open hand, however, may be a different story.
4Rogue
We Love Edginess
Okay, I have a confession to make. I am addicted to edginess. The more dark and brooding someone is, the more likely I am to be attracted to them. And that’s why rogues come close to scraping the podium in this list.
However, I realize that edginess isn’t for everyone. And to that I say, ‘What is wrong with you?’ Rogues are deft, clever, and subtle, which are all great qualities in a partner. Plus, they could steal you gifts anytime, day or night, though preferably at night.
3Sorcerer
Metamagic My Heart
On the podium, we have sorcerers in the third-place slot. Frankly, I just think full-casters would be the most fun to date. Plus, sorcerers are highly charismatic, meaning that they’re likely to be able to woo you, even without the use of spells.
There’s also something so attractive about the idea of someone naturally powerful, like a sorcerer. For me, it would really feel like dating upward. Sorcerers, you have the key to my heart always.
