Surprising no one,Pokemon TCG Pockethas been a roaring success for The Pokemon Company, pulling in millions of players at launch. It kicked things off with a set largely dedicated to the original 151 Pokemon and has been jumping around with subsequent sets ever since. However, if a new, increasingly widespread leak is anything to go by, Pocket’s next stop will be the Johto region.
That’s according to multiple leaks, including information shared by usually reliable leakerEclipse(viathe r/PTCGP subreddit). Leakers have shared information discovered via a deep dive into the Pocket in-game store, claiming that the next set will be a Johto-themed one with Pokemon introduced inGold & Silveras its focus.
Not only that, but the datamine has also potentially revealed the themes of the two smaller sets that will follow it. If accurate, a booster pack featuring baby Pokemon will follow in the Johto expansion’s footsteps, and then a Mega Evolution-themed update will be coming after that.

Stopping off to pick up some Baby Pokemon and Mega Evolutions along the way
When exactly these sets will be officially revealed and added to the game remains unclear. With a big update coming to Pocket next week, which will bring with it some highly anticipated changes to trading, many thought the rumored Johto set revealed might have been a part of today’s Pokemon Presents.
Clearly not, but the showcase doesn’t exactly line up with how Pocket does things. Each set has been revealed almost exactly a week before it’s added to the game. That means, if it’s real, we can expect to see the Johto expansion get an official reveal either tomorrow or Thursday, ready for it to be added to the game either on July 30 or July 31.
Expansions, whether big or small, have been coming to the game roughly once a month. That means a potential baby Pokemon booster pack at the end of August, and then Mega Evolutions at the end of September. That would line up with the reintroduction of Mega Evolution to the main series of Pokemon games a few weeks later viaPokemon Legends: Z-A, which will be released onNintendo SwitchandNintendo Switch 2on October 16.A new Switch 2 Legends: Z-A bundle was revealed todayand will be available to pre-order starting from July 23.
