Pokemondoes synergy unlike anything else in the gaming world. For almost three decades, it has managed to keep its games, TCG, and TV shows intertwined. Hence why it only makes sense that the plushes be brought into the mix as The Pokemon Company just released a new line of plushes that display your favorite trading cards for you.
Eevee, Pikachu, and Meware the stars of the inventive new range, each of them getting their own plush that’s holding a card-shaped window over their chest that kind of makes it look like they’re giving themselves an X-ray. You won’t see a Pokemon’s insides if you peek through the window, though, you’ll see a trading card. Well, provided you put one in there, of course.
The downside is the plushes don’t come with a trading card, you’ll have to provide that yourself. Although that just means you may put whatever you want in there. A card that matches the Pokemon holding it, one of its evolved forms (or Mewtwo for Mew), or an entirely different Pokemon, it’s up to you.
The card doesn’t even have to be one from thePokemon TCGif you don’t want it to be. Just don’t tell The Pokemon Company I said that.
There are now Pokemon plushes that hold your trading cards
And your coins, and your TCG accessories
This unique new range is made up of more than just card-holding plushes. Your entire TCG kit is being catered for. There are also matching slightly smaller, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee plushes designed to hold your Pokemon TCG coins. Completing the collection are straps, again in all three Pokemon varieties, that can be used to secure your playmat or TCG decks to keep them secure while traveling.
The new Pokemon TCG plush range was released in Japan on Friday, and, for the time being, the items are exclusively available in Japan. However, they may get a worldwide rollout at a later date. Plus, as always, there are ways of getting your hands on the plushes outside of Japan.
Meccha Japan already has some of the items in stock, although the card-holding plushes are currently unavailable. That either means they went up and sold out right away, or they haven’t been released yet. They do have listings, though, which implies the plushes that display cards will cost around $26 each.
If you don’t want to wait for the TCG plushes to be released worldwide, but you have a Pokemon plush thirst that needs quenching,the new Doll plushes added to the growing range earlier this year are now available worldwide.
