Summary
A long time ago,SonyandNintendowere set to collaborate on an actual console. However, things weren’t meant to be, and we gotthe PlayStation instead, and Nintendocontinued on its own path.
That said, via some nifty tinkering, you can stop letting dreams be dreams, and instead make your own Nintendo PlayStation by connecting aPlayStation 5 DualSenseto the recently releasedNintendo Switch 2.
Playing Mario Kart With A DualSense Feels So Wrong, And Also Right
As detailed by GamesRadar, a DualSense can be connected to the Switch 2 via a MayFlash Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter, which also works with a Switch 2 for OG GameCube controller purposes.
From there, all you’ll need is an 8BitDo Bluetooth Retro Receiver for NGC to serve as the receiver between the controller and console. When connected, the Switch 2 will basically recognize Sony’s own peripheral as a GameCube controller, even though it very clearly isn’t.
Per the author, no button mapping issues or lags have been discovered, making this a rather neat find. And as the author also notes, given how expensive the Switch 2 Pro Controller is,plus the fact that the Switch 1 Pro Controller cannot wake the console from sleep, using a DualSense, beyond the novelty of it all, does represent a rather cheap compromise, at least until prices go down.
