After a series of restocks followed by months of radio silence, it seemed unlikely anyone who missed out on picking upPlayStation’s very limited edition 30th anniversary DualSense would ever get another chance to add one to their collection. That was untilPlayStation quietly announced a restockthat is now live, but you’ll need to be quick.
PlayStation confirmed the DualSense controller would be getting restockedat 10 am EST on July 21, 2025,and, if you check the time, you’ll see that deadline has passed and the controllers are indeed back in stock, exclusively at PlayStation Direct. You will need to be a PS Plus member to buy the controller today through the link in the box below. Non-members will have to sit and hope there are still some left on Wednesday when the remaining stock goes on general sale.
Every other restock of thePS1-grey DualSense, and everything else in the 30th anniversary collection, for that matter, has usually sold out within minutes of said restock going live. PlayStation likely knew the collection would be popular, but couldn’t have anticipated just how nostalgicPS5owners would feel about consoles and accessories that remind them of the studio’s debut console.
The response to the retro PS5 themes being limited-timewas also evidence that PlayStation is unaware of quite how much we pine for its past.
PlayStation’s 30th anniversary DualSense is back in stock
First for PS Plus members, then for everybody else
To PlayStation’s credit, it’s a fantastic DualSense design idea that has been executed perfectly. It would have been very easy to simply spray a standard DualSense grey and call it a day. People would have happily paid $79.99 for that. Whoever designed the controller went the extra mile, though, including smaller details like the colored face buttons and the home button that’s been redesigned to look like the original, much more colorful, PlayStation logo.
DualSense Wireless Controller – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
PlayStation’s 30th anniversary DualSense gives the PS5 controller a retro makeover, making it look like it came paired with its very first console, the PS1.
If you’re reading this in the UK or Canada, you may have the chance to buy even more items from the anniversary range. While the US is only getting the DualSense, PlayStation’s British and Canadian social media accounts included restock news for the anniversary console and its matchingPlayStation Portal.
I said this every time there was a restock of something in this collection throughout the end of 2024 and into 2025, but I’m going to say it again, as it almost certainly applies this time - this will likely be the last chance you ever have of buying this controller without resorting to a third-party seller. On the bright side, if you missed out,PSP collectibles created by the makers of Nendoroidsare on the way to keep PlayStation’s anniversary celebrations rolling.
