A leak from earlier in the weekclaimed PlayStation was planning to reveal a price cut for the PS5during its Days of Play sale despite price hikes elsewhere in the industry. In defense of dealabs, which was the source of the earlier leak, it only pointed to PS5 discounts in Europe, and the numbers it quoted are bang on. As confirmedvia a new post on the PlayStation Blog, the slimmer model of PS5, both the standard version and digital edition, will be cheaper in Europe during Days of Play.
However, if you want a PS5 console for less in the US during PlayStation’s upcoming sale, there are caveats. If you already have a PS5 and you’ve been waiting for a discount on the PS5 Pro before taking the step up, there’s good news. The Pro version of PlayStation’s console will get its first official price cut later this weekwhen $50 is knocked off its $700 launch price.

You will also be able to pick up a newCall of Duty: Black Ops 6PS5 bundle and save quite a bit of money in the process.The bundle will start at $399.99for the digital edition of the slimmer PS5 model with a digital copy of the newest Call of Duty game. It’s not a discount per se, butlike the Astro Bot bundle, it will cost less to buy the console with a game than to buy one without it. That still feels like a mistake, but the Astro Bot bundle has been available for weeks at this point and the price hasn’t changed.
Other notable discounts coming your way during Days of Play include$30 off PlayStation’s Pulse Explore earbuds, anda $20 price cut on DualSense controllers. The earbuds have been a very popular PS5 accessory, selling out almost immediately every time they were restocked in the months after release. The $30 price cut will presumablybring the price of them down to $170during Days of Play.
