Peakhas clambered up the internet’s charts, sliding into the role of the current, popular game played by groups of friends and content creators on every social media platform. If you haven’t seen it already, you play as some silly little characters as you attempt to scale a randomly generated mountain, making your way through the different biomes and hazards with tools you’ll find scattered around.

Usually, this will be you and up to three other friends, as the limit on players is a total of four in a group.Despite people wanting more out of the game already, Peak’s future updates are as mysterious as its mountain’s next biome. Until then, however,people have taken to using the Peak Unlimited modto allow for more players. It’s a fun way to expand on the game for the time being, but as you might expect, mods can bring about some issues here and there.

Peak’s July 1 Patch Notes Confirm Direct Support For Modders

In the latest patch released today for Peak, AggroCrab provided patch notes that expand on the fixes. Available on the Steam page, I’ll include them below:

Hey scouts! Another round of fixes for you!!! Most importantly we’ve improved the stability of the reconnecting to games if you get disconnected. There’s some other goodies in here too :)

Oh and new languages should be arriving SOON.

Alongside various fixes with technical issues, disconnections, and confirmation of new languages being added soon, one of the new features listed is something that should prevent modded lobbies from suffering broken end screens when connecting with groups larger than four players. This note is followed by a sweet “Hi modders” and a heart, showing how AggroCrab is looking out for all Peak players, aiming to make the experience better for you, whether you’re modding the game or not.

This isn’t the first case of a dev supporting mods on their games, but it’s still rare enough to feel like spotting a capybara in the wild. A lot of the time, modded players end up in camps of their own, ignored by the developers as the focus is on the core, base game. Many other times, modders are left with broken builds of the game as soon as an update drops, because those updates aren’t designed with the mods in mind.

To see AggroCrab,which is still grappling with the sudden unexpected success of the game, directly support players using mods, and so early on in the game’s life cycle, is a wonderful step of extra effort. It’s groups of developers like this that especially deserve for their games to be successful, and I’m ever-hopeful that Peak can continue strong, garnering further updates to keep a long life with a dedicated community of players.

If all players are considered like this in future support, then I hope this game never hits its summit and only keeps climbing.
