Eagle-earedPac-Manfans think that the recently-revealedPac-Man World 2: Re-Pacis bringing back a beloved icon from the weirdest game in the series. Yes, even weirder thanShadow Labyrinth.
After months of rumours and leaks, today gave us what we’d all, kind of, been asking for -a new Nintendo Partner Showcase. Although it seems likealmost everyone thinks the Partner Showcase was a big letdown overall, there were some gems hidden in there, including the reveal of Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac.
Considering how slim the chances were of Pac-Man World 2 getting a remake, it’s already a big deal to see it get the Re-Pac treatment. That’s before you see just how much Bandai Namco has done to update the game, which includes reintroducing Pac-Man to something he’s not had in a long time - an actual voice.
Oh my god, Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac just got even more exciting
World 3 enjoyers are in for a treat
Hearing Pac-Man speak might seem weird to a few of you, but anyone who has played Pac-Man World 3 is no doubt used to him being surprisingly smarmy and cheeky. World 3 is an apt comparison, too, as it sounds likeWorld 2: Re-Pac is actually bringing back his voice actor from that game, Martin T. Sherman.
Towards the start of the World 2: Re-Pac trailer, we get a very small glimpse of what Pac-Man is going to sound like in the remake.Twitter user Shamaboy11 pointed outthat, after listening to the Pac-Man World 3 cutscenes, the voice of Pac in World 2: Re-Pac is almost definitely Martin T. Sherman returning to the role.
If you’ve never played World 3,I need you to watch this compilation of its funniest moments. Pac-Man even makes a not-so-subtle joke about what he and Ms. Pac get up to in their spare time.
Sherman’s return hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, but it seems that fans have cottoned on very quickly,as almost all of the comments underneath the reveal are pointing out that it sounds exactly like him. Here’s hoping he has just as many weird jokes and sarcastic comments as he did in World 3.
