Summary
There are plenty of things to keep a hero busy inThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. If you’re not occupied with one of the many guild quests, there are countless Oblivion Gates to shut, or even an arena to test your combat prowess. However, everyone’s favourite pass time is undoubtedly dungeon divingfor rare loot and materials.
However, one of the main complaints about the game is that it doesn’t tell you if you’ve already cleared a dungeon. This is usually done via a separate marker or greying out its icon in other games. While enemies and materials in Oblivion’s dungeons respawn, it would be great to have a marker to know you’ve visited it. It turns out that there is a roundabout way to check this.
The Local Minimap In Oblivion Remastered Is Very Versatile
As pointed out byAmatuer_Genius54301, there is a way to check if you’ve visited or even fully cleared a particular dungeon. You can simply zoom in on the dungeon icon on the map to reveal the local minimap. If it’s entirely filled out, it means you’ve cleared the dungeon before. Sure, it’s not as easy as a green tick on the map, but at least it will stop you from revisiting a dungeon by accident.
“If the mini-map is already filled in, then you have already explored here before; if it is blank then you have never been there yet,” they noted. “You will have to travel there and enter in order to access the mini-map; which I guess is slightly inconvenient, but you do have a quick way to instantly discern if the place has been previously cleared.”
While many of the comments were thankful for this, they still wish that the map featured a marker for dungeons that have been cleared, especially the completionists. “I personally want to do every single fort, dungeon, and ruin without having to manually create my own map of Cyrodill to mark where I’ve been,” said one comment. “This is for the sake of 100% completion.”
It seems there are still players that aren’t even aware of the local mini-map feature. “This was actually very helpful, because for the life of me I could not figure out how to view the local map,” said another.
