Summary

Bethesda games are the gold standard when it comes to modding. The developer has the five most modded games of all time onNexus Mods(Skyrim, Skyrim: Special Edition,Fallout 4,Fallout: New Vegas,Oblivion), withFallout 3in seventh,Morrowindin ninth, andStarfieldjust outside the top ten. With this in mind, it was only natural thatThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remasteredwould be modded to… Oblivion.

The speed in which it is being modded, though, may be more of a surprise, as data found by us here at TheGamer suggests it is the fastest-modded game of all time on Nexus Mods, outpacing Skyrim Special Edition and Starfield.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Being Modded At An Incredible Rate

Since its launch on April 22, the Oblivion Remaster has received 1,850 mods, despitethe game not officially supporting them— an average of around 123 mods a day. It hit the 1,000 mod mark after 6 days, 19 hours, and 36 minutes. By our calculations, this makes it the fastest game to ever reach 1,000 mods on Nexus Mods.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition was the previous record holder, breaking through the 1,000 mod mark in 7 days, 17 hours, and 30 minutes, meaning Oblivion Remasteredspeedranit in 22 hours less time. Since its release 3,113 days ago, Skyrim Special Edition has received over 109,000 mods, translating to roughly 35 a day.

The third-fastest game to reach 1,000 mods is another modern title, Starfield, which achieved this in just over eight days. Starfield’s 10,070 mods in 615 days means it’s had approximately 16 mods per day since its Premium Edition launched.

The other games to reach 1,000 mods fastest include Fallout 4, which did it in 10 days, andThe Witcher 3and Fallout New Vegas, which both did it in 13 days. Interestingly, it took the original Oblivion much longer to reach 1,000 mods, getting there in around 100 days, showing just how much the modding scene has evolved since its 2006 release.

Naturally, Oblivion Remastered won’t continue at this pace. Players are getting the easiest, most-requested mods out of the door as early as possible, but it’s a highly impressive feat nonetheless.
