Pressing The Same Button Three Times Isn’t Exactly The Best Security Feature
In a new video shared on the Nintendo Today! app, the Switch 2 will allow owners to set a device pin to further secure their device.
Via the System Settings, Switch 2 owners will be able to “lock” their system with a pin, presumably a four-digit combination, that will require you to enter it when the system wakes from sleep mode.
The feature will mirror that of phones and computers, as well as other consoles, in allowing owners to secure the device to prevent others from accessing it without permission. Right now, the original Switch requires owners to press the same button three times to unlock the device, a feature that can also be disabled.
It’s a small update, but a major benefit to those who might be playing their console on the go and are at risk of misplacing it. Or for those who might be sharing the console with another person. The little things really do add up.
