Nintendo Switch 2doesn’t have a lot of games, if you’re not including thethird-party releases like Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk 2077. Mario Kart World is the only first-party on the system for now, with Donkey Kong Bananza coming next month, but there is a second game that you could pick up if you feel like throwing away $10.
Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tourhas beendunked on mercilessly ever since Nintendo revealed it would be a paid title, seen as nothing more than a tech demo andone of the worst games that Nintendo has put out in recent memory. That doesn’t mean it’s completely useless though, as a bunch of Nintendo fans have just found out about a neat way to store your Joy-Cons thanks to the title.
Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tour Has Fans Realizing You Can Store Joy-Cons Upright
First posted to the Switch 2 subreddit by a user called Sam_dougie(thanks Automaton), they recently discovered that Joy-Cons can be stored upright with the grip that comes with the controllers after seeing it done in Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tour. In the post, they claim that they “can’t believe [they’ve] never tried it before”, especially since that’s how Nintendo displays the controller on the box.
You’d think this would be common knowledge, but the Reddit post is filled with people just as bamboozled by the revelation as the original poster. For example, a user called KingTaco6 says “this can’t be true” only to reply to their own comment a little while later with just “omg”, which is the exact same reaction I had when trying it out myself too.
If you want to try it out yourself, literally all you need to do is stick your Joy-Cons in the grip that you get (it works with both Switches) and then you can simply stand it up, and it’s pretty stable too. It’s a pretty perfect way to declutter your space, neatly store an extra set of Joy-Cons you have, and it also looks pretty slick when placed in front of your Switch. Thanks, Welcome Tour, I guess you weren’t a massive waste of time after all.
