If theNintendo Switch 2’s divisive C Button is getting in your way and accidentally forcing you to use GameChat, don’t worry, as there’s actually an easy solution to the problem.

Although Nintendo has been accused of not being innovative enough with the Switch 2(especially compared to consoles like the Wii and original Switch), the successordoeshave some interesting new additions. While the mouse control and generally higher powerare the easy winners so far,Nintendo’s put a lot of stock into one feature in particular - GameChat.

In a move that’s very unlike Nintendo, the Switch 2 has a built-in voice-chat function that can be activated with a press of the controller’s button. That button is called the C Button and, while the technology and intent behind itareinteresting for Nintendo,it does have some notable issues, including it being totally useless unless you haveNintendoSwitch Online.

Heads Up, The Nintendo Switch 2’s C Button Can Be Remapped To Pretty Much Anything Else

No More Accidental GameChats When You’re Trying To Go Home

If you’re one of the people who don’t have Nintendo Switch Online or you keepaccidentally knocking the C Button when trying to go back to the home screen or take a screenshot, you might find the C Button particularly annoying. As it turns out, though, the C Button can actually be completely remapped if you don’t like how it works.

As pointed out by NintendoSoup, the Switch 2 allows you to pretty much remap any button on the controller, including the C Button itself. If you head into theSystem Settings, select Accessibility, and then choose Button Mapping, you may actually give the C Button a whole new function altogether.

The C Button is especially annoying on the Pro Controller, as it feels even more out of place than on the Switch 2 itself. That’s not a problem anymore, though!

After fiddling with the remapping option myself, I’ve found that the placement of the C Button makes it aperfect candidate for the Home or Capture buttons. It’s not a perfect fix for a button that probably shouldn’t be where it is on the Pro Controller or Switch anyway, but it’s the best option you’ve got if it’s getting on your nerves.
