Despite how worried we all were a few weeks ago, it looks like no one has broken theSwitch 2’s Joy-Con connectors just yet. Well, no one has broken themaccidentallyanyway.
Considering how long we all spent waiting forNintendoto finallyreveal the Nintendo Switch’s successor, it’s a little wild to think that it andMario Kart Worldhave both been out for a couple of weeks now. The console isn’t without its flaws, but itdoes seem to have been mostly positively received so far.
One of the surprising strengths of the Switch 2 is, well, itsstrength.Outside of the expected Joy-Con drift issues, most people who have looked into the Switch 2’s designhave found it to be remarkably solid. That even includes the one part of the console we were all so worried about.

WhenNintendo revealed the Switch 2 for the first time, it did so with a snazzy trailer showing the console off in full detail. That look included a shot of the Switch 2’s Joy-Con connector, which is now magnetic and sticks out of the screen’s side,which scared a lot of people into thinking it’d be very fragile.
As it turns out, though, it seems to be a total non-issue.Over on Twitter, ZeldasBreakfast shared an image of the Joy-Con connectorand asked if anyone had managed to break it yet like we all feared. That post has reached nearly nine million people, and the comments are all pretty much in agreement.
If you break that you’re a complete moron and it’s 110% your fault.
Ignoring thecontent creators who purposefully damaged the Switch 2 or tore it down, nearly everyone says that their Connector is totally fine and very sturdy. In fact, it seems basically impossible to snap off and is nowhere near worth stressing about, like we all assumed it would be.
Of course, it’s still very early days for the Switch 2 right now, so there’s a chance it becomes a bigger issue in the future. For now, though, it looks like we were all jumping to conclusions thatNintendo chose to completely ignore and let speak for themselves.
