One of the biggest features of the recently releasedNintendo Switch 2, besidesthe ability to use the Joy-Cons like a mouse, isGameChat. It’s so massive thatit even has a dedicated button for it on the Switch 2 Joy-Cons.

Althoughyou’ll need to register a valid phone number to use the feature, which might be a turn-off for some privacy-conscious gamers, you can drop F-bombs in chat, so it’s not all that bad. However, via a new YouTube discovery, there is actually one limit to GameChat, and it has nothing to do with curse words.

Sorry, You Won’t Be Able To Pull A 24-Hour Gaming Session

As first spotted by NintendoSoup, via YouTube content creator Nathaniel Bandy, there is a built-in 24-hour time limit for the Switch 2’s GameChat feature. Once that limit is reached, you’ll automatically be booted from the chat.

For the record, they state that their findings came as part of doing research for a separate video, and not an all-nighter. That said, for those who might be pulling a 24-hour gaming sesh, you’ll get warnings at 30 minutes, 5 minutes and 1 minute before you get booted.

Of course, if you happen to ignore the warning, you’ll be able to start a new GameChat session and invite your friends over without a hitch. It’s definitely a little weird, but compared to past Nintendo measures, it’s nowhere near as bad as it really could’ve been. It’s also really unlikely that anyone will actually hit this limit naturally, at least in the Switch 2’s current state, with a rather limited first-party library.
