After Nintendo’samiibodepictingStreet Fighter 6’s roster was announced at a price fans deemed too high, the tables have turned, and they’ve been found on Walmart clearance racks.

Fans have been expressing their frustrations regarding amiibo pricing since the latest wave of non-Nintendo IP figures was announced. When amiibo launched in 2014 —originally for the Wii U— Nintendo released high-quality characters (albeit there were defectives in the pile,dual-wielding cannon Samus being a good example) fromSuper Smash Bros. in small trophy-like figures reminiscent of how they appear in-game. These figures were originally priced at USD 12.99, and they’ve since seen many price hikes.

Over the past 10 years, amiibo have increased at an exorbitant rate, going over triple their originally released price for the base Super Smash Bros. figures. Fans have taken to forumssuch as Redditto air their grievances on the new pricing. But now, fans are sharing their excitement around the now-clearance price-stickered Street Fighter 6 amiibo that has been found at Walmart.

Back when the new $39.99 price tag was announced,a threadtitled “New amiibo prices have gone up. Street Fighter series amiibo are now $39.99 and the new Zelda series are now $29.99” appeared, and fans used the post as a lightning rod for their ire.

One fan, BigOggaBogga said, “As someone who adores amiibo and loves Street Fighter, my excitement for these just dwindled in about 5 seconds. Absolutely insane pricing,” regarding the $39.99 tag. Thankfully, Street Fighter fans will be elated to learn these amiibo have just relocated to clearance in Walmart.

Street Fighter 6 Amiibo Get A Nearly 50 Percent Clearance Discount At Walmart In-Store

In another newthread, this one titled “Nooo I’m Not Feeling Foolish,” users have flocked to an image of a Walmart counter adorned with a few Street Fighter 6 amiibo, complete with a yellow clearance tag depicting a near 50 percent markdown on the SF6 amiibo. Ironically, eagle-eyed fans will notice multiple yellow labels have been used on the figures, denoting this may not be the first time the figures have taken a price dip in stores.

Notably, when visiting theWalmart website, none of the SF6 amiibo have reduced pricing, so the clearance move appears to be in-store only. Fans who were on the hunt for these pieces (and waiting for a potential price dip) should check their local Walmart for a drop in price, or wait until other retailers follow suit.
