How To Fix Nintendo Switch 2’s Battery Display Issue

Follow these steps if the displayed battery percentage does not match the actual remaining battery percentage on your Switch 2. You’ll know this if your console doesn’t shut down after the displayed battery percentage has dipped to zero, or vice-versa.

First you’ll have to confirm that you’re using an adequately powerful AC adapter. The charger for your original Switch can be used to charge the new console, but it won’t work on the dock of the Switch 2.

- Power off the console.

  • Press and hold down the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons, press the POWER Button once to turn the system on.

  • Keep holding down the volume buttons until the menu for Recovery Mode appears. Navigating to this menu should reset the battery level meter.

  • Power off the console again by pressing and holding the POWER Button until it turns off.

  • Power the console back on and monitor the situation.

These steps should be able to fix the issue and your console will start displaying the correct battery percentage. However, if the issue persists after following these steps a couple of times, you’ll probably have to send your Switch 2 in for repair.

It seems a number of customers have been reporting this issue, leadingNintendo to put out this fix. Hopefully, these steps should take care of it.
