While the future ofBatmangames andWarner Bros. gaming division as a wholecontinues to be murky, assets from a canceled Batman spin-off that would have put players in control of Damian Wayne continue to leak online.
This time, test footage of the game has been shared by YouTube creator The Atomsmith, where Wayne is attempting to chase Killer Croc on the Batcycle.
Sounds pretty mundane, right?
Well, in this universe, Killer Croc himself would also be driving a motorcycle. Yes, you read that right. It’s a chase sequence between Wayne and Croc all taking place on bikes.
It’s worth noting thatthis version of Croc was seemingly pulled from Arkham Origins, where he had a more humanoid depiction, something that was later copied in the first Suicide Squad movie.
Either way, it’s the kind of fever dream that makes you wonder what else the game was cooking prior to its cancellation.
The Game Was Ultimately Canceled For … Gotham Knights
Just a few weeks ago, additional art assets were shared online, showcasing how Damian Wayne would’ve looked without the cowl, along with an old-man version of Batman himself, Bruce Wayne.
Those leaks follow other asset dropsthat showcased more of the Batcycle that players would have had access to. Of course, the Batcycle became a key gameplay element of Gotham Knights, which Project Sabbath — the game’s working codename — was canceled in favor of.
It’s unclear ultimately why the game was canceled, though voice actor Josh Keaton, who was set to star as Damian Wayne, said it was due to the leaks, though those claims were challenged later. One thing is for sure, though, it would’ve been unlike any other Batman game we have played.
