No, it’s not another game or live-action adaptation, but rather a compendium with the scripts for bothThe Last of Us Part 1andPart 2.
As first revealed by Variety, Naughty Dog and Dark Horse are coming together to jointly release a hardcover featuring scripts from both games in one book. Officially titled “The Last of Us: Part I and Part II Scripts,” the book will release officially on December 16, and comprises 618 total pages.
“These scripts, written during the games’ development, were meant to guide our team as we brought that world to life,” Druckmann told the publication. “They were never intended for public view — until now. For the first time, we’re sharing them with you — hoping this rare glimpse brings you even closer to the heart of Joel, Ellie, Abby, and the world they inhabit.”
The Last Of Us Continues To Live On, Even In Book Form
While it’s certainly become one of gaming’s favorite memes, The Last of Us as a franchise has truly had an astounding number of re-releases, collections and everything in between.
Back in April,the studio released both Part 1 and Part 2 in one package, titling it “The Last of Us Complete.“That release came on the heelsof re-releasing Part 2 as a “Remaster” on PlayStation 5, along withanother “Remaster” of the first game. If that wasn’t enough,Naughty Dog also released a “Chronological” mode for Part 2just a few weeks ago.
And if all that wasn’t enough TLOU content,then there could potentially be two more seasons of the HBO adaptation, all dedicated to the second game. News of a book filled with scripts really is just the cherry on top.
