WithFinal Fantasyin the rearview mirror,Magic: The Gatheringcan now focus on its next big Universes Beyond crossover set starringSpider-Man. The card reveals have begun, and it looks like those at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend will be able to get a closer look at an unrevealed bundle that pairs an MTG card with a new Anti-Venom action figure.

There’s a display case at SDCC featuring various items from the upcoming Universes Beyond set, andmcucollector24has shared a short video of what’s in there on Instagram. Most of the items are previously revealed inclusions that, while they will be very hard to come by, are MTG x Spider-Man products that we already knew about.

MTG’s SDCC display includes an unrevealed Anti-Venom action figure bundle

However, right in the middle is a bundle that has not been announced. A Spider-Man x MTG bundle that includes what appears to be a previously unreleased Marvel Legends action figure, along with what is presumably a card from the upcoming Spider-Man expansion. The figure features Spider-Man in his black and white Anti-Venom suit, which could mean the card is a matching one.

If there is going to be an Anti-Venom MTG card, we’ve not been shown or even told about it yet.

If that is a previously unrevealed card in the box, then it would make sense for it to be hidden from view. However, that might just mean the card you get with your action figure isn’t the same in every box. An interesting twist on the way these crossovers have been done before if so, although mystery card or not, chances are whatever’s in that box is going to wind up being worth a lot of money.

Since MTG and Marvel Legends both operate under Hasbro, it makes a lot of sense to do a crossover like this. Putting Spider-Man in the TCG is already a surefire way to get more people interested. Pairing the cards up with action figures will just invite even more people into the growing intersection on the Venn diagram.

While our first look at the Anti-Venom bundle is an unofficial one, yesterday we were givenour first official look at some of the cards in the upcoming Spider-Man set. The six cards revealed include an uncomfortably realistic version of Spider-Ham. I prefer the Looney Tunes-inspired design from the Spider-Verse movies, but each to their own.

Sonic sped past Spidey last week aspre-orders for the hedgehog’s MTG Secret Lair went live. It didn’t take long for the first wave of orders to start showing up at people’s houses which prompted some to quicklylist their Chaos Emerald bonus cards for as much as $1,750on resale sites.
