As is usually the case withMagic: The Gathering’s Secret Lairs, MTG’sSonicsets will include bonus cards. Unlike prior drops, however, the bonus cards have already been confirmedto include all seven Chaos Emeralds. Unfortunately, as expected, now that the cards are starting to appear in the wild, people are trying to sell their Chaos Emerald cards for an awful lot of money.
Sonic’s bonus cards are a little different from pretty much all of the Secret Lair drops to come before it. That’s because even though there are technically only two of them,a Master Emerald Shrine Command Tower and a Chaos Emerald Lotus Petal, there are seven variants of the Chaos Emerald card, one for each color of the emeralds in the Sonic games.
Since you can’t dictate or even predict which bonus cards you’re going to get, that makes collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds very difficult. Unless you’re willing to pay resale prices, since almost everything in the Sonic Secret Lair has sold out, it’s pretty much impossible. There are seven colors to collect and one card in each drop, hence those who have found one immediatelylisting them on eBay for steep resale prices.
MTG’s Sonic Chaos Emerald bonus cards are already showing up on eBay
I’m no jeweller, but I think it might be cheaper to just buy real emeralds
The cards are being sent out in waves, and clearly, the first wave of deliveries has arrived, hence the Chaos Emerald listings appearing on eBay this week. Exactly how much these cards will be worth once the dust settles is currently unclear, and the prices are all over the place. It looks like you could technically complete your collection with every color listed on eBay, but doing that is going to cost you thousands of dollars.
Even buying one card could end up costing you more than $1,000 depending on where the prices settle. Those who have been among the first to get their hands on the cards are really pushing their luck and listing the cards for more than $1,000.Someone is trying to sell a single card for $1,750. That makesthis listing, which is offering the blue, red, and yellow Chaos Emeralds for $1,600, sound reasonable.
Most sellers are asking for between $400 and $600 per card, but the best barometer of how much these cards will sell for isthis listing that has people bidding for a foil version of the silver Chaos Emerald. The bidding is up to $227.50 with 22 bids placed and more than six days to go.
