Everyone who is a fan of the series has always fantasized about the possibility ofDigimonbeing real, who their partner would be, and the adventures, or hijinks, they would get into. But no one ever thinks about the bad that could come from them being real.

There are plenty of cute Digimon in the series, but some of them are some of the most terrifying creatures to ever graze the Digital World. From colossal dragons to world-ending nuclear weapons, some of these Digimon should probably never exist in real life. Maybe keep these on a hard drive to never see the light of day.

Digimon: The Destructive Dragon Of The Royal Knights

10Examon

In terms of sheer size and scale, Examon is one of the biggest in the Digital World. This toweringRoyal Knightis one of the most fearsome due to its wingspan. While its exact size is not specified in any official Digimon documents, Examon’s name, derived from the storage unit exabyte, reveals a great deal about this massive dragon Digimon.

You can even see how large this dragon is in one of the Digimon Card Game alternate arts, where the monster is almost like a kaiju, stomping through a city.

9VenomMyotismon

If you’ve watched the Digimon Adventure anime, then you’ll remember how truly terrifying VenomMyotismon is. His Champion Digivolution caused tons of havoc for theoriginal Digidestined, but their real trial arrived with the Ultimate VenomMyotismon.

There are plenty of Digimon based on evil and hellish entities, but VenomMyotismon’s design and size make this thing terrifying to behold. This Digimon can eventually Digivolve into MaloMyotismon, but this Ultimate is far more fearsome than its Mega form.

Eyesmon profile from Digimon Ghost Game.

8Eyesmon

Scary Digimon are a-plenty in the Digital World, but this one might sneak by you without even noticing. Eyesmon is a Digimon who lives in the shadows, and we wouldn’t put it past it being under your bed while you sleep.

The scariest part about this Digimon is that it’s made up of many other Eyesmon: Scatter Mode, meaning it could probably get bigger as it gathers more little ones. Stay away from the shadows while you walk in the Digital World.

Digimon: The Two Super Demon Lords

7Lucemon: Satan Mode

A Digimon who has “Satan” in its name is probably not a peach to be around. Technically, Satan Mode is not a Digimon. It is simply a shadow of Lucemon, and Lucemon is in the giant sphere that the creature is holding, but somehow that’s even scarier.

We wouldn’t want to cross a fallen angel Digimon who is so bent on destruction that they’ve transformed into a giant dragon that’s holding an orb that could probably destroy an entire planet. Count us out.

Dragomon from Digimon Ghost Game as a hologram.

6Dragomon

Digimon have some incredible designs when it comes to evil-coded creatures, but this one is just outright disgusting. If this creature were real, it would not be pleasant to the eye whatsoever.

This grotesque Digimon is supposed to be derived from a computer virus that would knock boats off track and make them become lost at sea. Not only is the deep sea terrifying, but now you’ll have to worry about a Dragomon while on your boat. I think we’re better off on dry land.

Digimon Xros: Betsumon Cosplaying As Gatomon

5Betsumon

Plenty of fans love Gatomon. As one of the original Digidestined Digimon, Gatomon is a fan favorite Champion-level Digimon, especially after seeing its Ultimate, Angewomon. Betsumon, on the other hand, is an abomination, and it gives us nightmares every single day.

One of Betsumon’s abilities is to impersonate Digimon, but it can use it on humans as well. Imagine you’re going on a date and this terrible creature reveals itself to you. It’s not on the same level of fear as a destruction machine, like Examon, but this one hits a different kind of scary.

4Sukamon

It’s hard to hate on one of the most iconic Digimon in the series, but think about it… If Sukamon were real, that smell would not be pleasant. A massive animated pile of feces would be a nightmare to everyone around it.

Yeah, sure, Digimon aren’t the items that they are modeled after, but Sukamon would carry a smell in real life. Not only that, but one of it’s special attacks consists of Sukamon throwing a bundle of poop at its enemy. If we see a Sukamon on the street, we’re walking the opposite way.

rareraremon art & anime appearance

3RareRaremon

Gross Digimon seem to be the most likely to somehow exist in the real world. This version of Raremon collects sludge and garbage to enlarge its body, then uses the same sludge to poison humans and consume them to grow even bigger.

This Digimon feels like a real fear of global warming that will eventually consume the entire planet and our earthly resources. That’s not a world that I want to live in. Let’s verify we bring our carbon footprint down so RareRaremon doesn’t become a reality.

Spoilers ahead for Digimon: The Movie and Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning

2Diaboromon

The nuclear bomb was one of the biggest mistakes that mankind has made. So what if the nuke was a Digimon? Diaboromon, if you’ve seen the first Digimon movie, is a Digimon that aims to collect as much military data as possible to become a nuke that will destroy the real world.

As much as we would like a partner Digimon, such as a cute Patamon or Terriermon, we would much rather not have an adorable green terrier with horns if it means we don’t get a hannya-masked nuke wandering the streets.

Ukkomon from Digimon facing straight into the camera.

1BigUkkomon

Another movie reference, BigUkkomon, was a terrifying sight to behold. While Ukkomon’s goal was a noble one of friendship, the way that the mission was enacted was quite scary, and the trauma that it endured made for a creepy and teeth-ridden monstrosity.

The existence of BigUkkomon in real life would mean that there probably are other Digimon in the world, and since Ukkomon’s goal in the end was to erase Digimon partnerships all over, it would end in a very sad, sad world.
