In news that I’m sure will surprise no one, most ofPlayStation’s best-selling games over the past few months actually come from its former first-party rival,Xbox.

The past few years have represented a massive shift for Xbox.Ignoring the multiple instances of mass layoffs that we’ve seen recently, the big shift mostly comes from Microsoft deciding to ditch its first-party approach andstart bringing pretty much every Xbox game over to other platforms, from smaller games likePentimentto beloved franchises likeForza Horizon.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this approach has been a massive success for Xbox throughout 2025, with a lot of Xbox games consistently showing up on the PlayStation Store’s best-selling list. You probably already know how well Xbox games are doing on PlayStation, but it might surprise you to find out that they’re taking up more than half of the top 10.

It looks like Xbox is finding far more success as a third-party publisher

With numbers like these, Halo on PS5 seems inevitable

As pointed out by Insider Gaming, Circana’sMat Piscatella recently took to Bluesky to share some new sales datathat he points out shows that we’re in “wild times” for the console market. The sales data shows the top 10 selling games on PlayStation (both physically and digitally) throughout Q2 2025.

Surprisingly, the number one best-selling game on PlayStation was Forza Horizon 5, followed byThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remasteredin second place. Ignoring MLB: The Show 25 in third place, Xbox dominates the top five yet again withBlack Ops 6andDoom: The Dark Agesat fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beachisn’t in the top 10 at all, which I’m hoping is because it launched so late into Q2.

WithMinecraftand Indiana Jones and the Great Circle taking up spots in the top 10 as well, that means that 60 percent of PlayStation’s best-selling games in Q2 2025 are actually from Xbox. That’s a wild amount of space being taken up by PlayStation’s former rival, and it just goes to show that it’s not stopping any time soon.
