WhileMortal Kombat 1has essentially been sunset,with no additional DLC being marked for release, thefranchiseis continuing on later this year with theMortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.
Originally announced during last month’s PlayStation State of Play, the Legacy Kollection is exactly what its namesake implies — a massive collection (or kollection in MK speak) of classic Mortal Kombat games all packaged together, complete with some historical and archival elements.
Though a release date has not been determined, some new details about the game have been liftedfrom the title’s Xbox storefront page, including a new way to obtain all of those secret characters.

On the page,which you’re able to check out here, it’s stated that players will be able to bypass any of the built-in requirements for unlocking secret characters with a simple press of the button, thus unlocking everything from the get-go.
- No More Secrets: At the touch of a button, unlock all secret characters, change game settings, and access the buried developer menus to play the games your way.
Of course, if you’d rather prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, then you’re more than able to.
For the uninitiated, Mortal Kombat essentially pioneered the whole “secret” character thing, putting some unique fighters behind some rather specific circumstances.

And after doing all of that, Reptile will present himself to you. But, you’ll have to actually beat him one-on-one.
Those kinds of circumstances became commonplace in the games that followed, so it’s nice to see the developers adding a way to circumvent all of that if you want to get straight to playing.
