Monster Hunter Wilds' PC version is finally getting the performance fixes it so desperately needs thanks to Title Update 2. While the update introduces new Monsters, quests, equipment, and weapons, PC players will be glad to see that it also brings several fixes for the VRAMissue that has been plaguing the game since launch.

Things haven’t been great for Monster Hunter Wilds lately. After arecord breaking launch, it’s all been downhill. The sheer number of performance issues has frustrated the community since launch, leading to a98 percent drop in players since launch. Unfortunately, this has resulted in Steam reviews for the game dropping to “Overwhelmingly Negative”. This latest update should hopefully be the start of the game’s revival.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 Introduces VRAM Fixes

Along with Lagiacrus, Seregios, and everything else, thepatch noteshave revealed a number of performance fixes for the PC version of the game. The VRAM usage, which has long been an issue for players in terms of the game’s performance. While this isn’t a complete fix to all of the game’s issues, it’s certainly a big step toward improving performance issues.

Adjusted the amount of VRAM used with texture streaming, resulting in reduced overall VRAM usage.

Fixed an issue where the Estimated VRAM Usage in the Display/Graphics settings was calculated lower than the actual value. (As a result, the estimated VRAM usage will appear higher, but thanks to a separate optimization, actual VRAM usage has been reduced, so the current minimum and recommended system requirements remain unchanged.)

Fixed an issue where the VRAM usage displayed incorrect values for the Distant Shadow Quality option in Graphics settings.

With the introduction of Lagiacrus, long-time Monster Hunter will be getting excited at the prospect of underwater combat. Last seen in Monster Hunter Tri, this will be the first instance of underwater combat in the next-gen version of the series. With the grapple hooks, mounts, and new features that Monster Hunter Wilds has introduced, it should be interesting to see how Capcom has managed underwater combat.
