The launch ofMindsEyehas been an unmitigated disaster at levels not seen sincelast year’s Concord debacle. The game was laden with bugs at launch, leadingthe development team to announce it was “heartbroken”. This sympathy play did nothing for the game, though, as it washit with terrible Steam user reviewsand became theworst-reviewed game by critics of 2025, so far.
Given just how badly the game has been received, you’d be forgiven for thinking that players would pick it up for an hour, see what it’s all about, then unceremoniously drop it, never to think of it again. While I’m sure many have done exactly that, a surprising number of players have achieved the MindsEye Platinum Trophy, or its equivalent on other platforms.
A Surprising Number Of Players Have Got The MindsEye Platinum Trophy
According toMindseye’s Steam page, two percent of players have toughed it out and gotten the achievement for completing all achievements. While that might not seem much, given the game’s reception and its short time on the market, it’s not bad going.
Similarly, multiple postshave been shared on the MindsEye subreddit over the last few days, with people showing off their Platinum Trophy from the game. Here, data shows that around 2.6 percent of players have achieved the feat.
Again, while 2.6 percent may not seem like a huge number, looking at some of previous years' worst-reviewed games, people didn’t have that level of patience.Food Truck Simulator, which has similar review scores to MindsEye, has an achievement that only 0.6 percent of players have, and similarly,Balan Wonderworldhas an achievement that only 2.7 percent of Steam players have, despite being out far longer.
Now, it is worth noting that MindsEye definitely doesn’t have the hardest Platinum in the world to achieve.PowerPyxreports that getting the game’s 30 trophies will take around 10–15 hours, much less than many other games on the market, but you have to commend those who are so committed to the trophy grind that they stuck with it for more than a couple of hours.
It looks like a few more trophy hunters might join the party, too, now thatthe game is already receivingmassive discounts.
