In case you haven’t been keeping up,MindsEyehas had a disastrous — and that might be putting it lightly — launch. The game, which was directed by Leslie Benzies ofGrand Theft Autofame, debuted to “Mostly Negative” reviews on Steam, and things have quickly gone downhill ever since.
Now,in a statement shared on social media, the developers at Build a Rocket Boy are affirming that they are “heartbroken” over the game’s horrendous launch while also sharing a commitment to improving the game as soon as possible.
MindsEye Might Overtake Cyberpunk For Most Disastrous Launch
The official post, which can be found here, details that the team is prioritizing optimizing the game’s performance and stability, so that all players can enjoy an “equally high-quality experience.”
They attribute the game’s technical problems to a memory leak that allegedly impacted 1 in 10 players. In order to ensure that players have a “great experience,” the team has outlined that a hotfix will be coming to consoles and PC beginning as early as tomorrow (June 13). That hotfix will also reduce the difficulty of the CPR minigame, which has similarly drawn criticism.
Another fix set for the week of June 16 will continue to improve performance and stability while also working to fix the game’s driving elements. Finally, another fix marked for the end of June will improve the AI and the game’s animations.
“Thank you for playing MindsEye. Thank you for your understanding and continued support – it truly means the world to us. We’re grateful and blessed to have you on the journey with us,” the statement read.
