As if 2025 wasn’t busy enough already with everything that’s been announcedand released in the past few months, it’s about to get even busier now that we’re in the Summer of gaming news. Although a few things were leaked or heavily hinted at by insiders, there’s a surprising amount we didn’t know about what to expect for this State of Play. There was a good reason for that, as it had a bunch of surprises waiting, including the (literally)show-stopping reveal of a new Marvel fighting game from Arc System Works.

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls Revealed At State Of Play

Gonna Take You For A Ride

Tonight’s State of Play was full of surprise announcements, but one of the biggest was thatArc System Works is making a fighting game based on Marvel. Tokon Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag fighter starring characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, Star-Lord, Doctor Doom, and more. Basically it’sMarvel vs. Capcombut without Capcom.

We saw a lot of gameplay of Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls and, unsurprisingly considering it comes from Arc System Works, it looks incredible. We don’t have a specific release date so far, but we know it’s coming at some point in 2026, so it’s time to start counting the days down until we can get into the 4v4 carnage.

Everyone’s been wondering what Arc has been up to sinceGuilty Gear Strivereleased, and now we finally know. It might not be FighterZ 2, but I’m happy with it.

Arc System Works promised during the reveal that we’d be hearing more about Tokon soon, including some character reveals and content outside of the main fighting. It sounds like there’s going to be a fair bit to the game beyond what we’ve seen already, but we’re most curious to hear about how the four versus four combat works, as that’s quite a twist for the genre.
