Marvel Rivalsis deep into Season 2.5 at the moment, and as most people will have likely finished the battle pass by now, attention is starting to turn towhat’s next for the flagging hero shooter. Season 3 is going to be make or break for Marvel Rivals, as it switches to a new monthly format, but it’s Twitch that seems to have given us our first confirmed info about what’s coming.
First spotted by a Reddit user called VenicArtime, Twitch has detailed all the games that will beincluded in its Summer Drops Fest this year, and Marvel Rivals is unsurprisingly among them. However, instead of simply revealing what drops the game will be getting, Twitch just straight-up told us what characters will be added to the game, as well as several key details about Season 3.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 Characters and Details Leaked By Twitch
Right out the gate, Twitch reveals that Phoenix and Blade will “ignite the action” in Marvel Rivals Season 3, which will apparently be titled ‘The Abyss Awaken’. It’s not too shocking, as both have been teased as potential character additions for quite a while - and Blade has been snoozing in Wakandaever since he was kidnapped by Dracula in Season 1- but this is the first confirmation we have that both are coming.
On top of that, Twitch has also claimed that brand-new team-ups will be added in Season 3, suggesting that some existing ones will be taken away, and that “stunning Venomized costumes” are on the way too. We know that NetEase likes to drip feed different themes, so it’s possible a lot of the roster could be getting Symbiote makeovers for skins. Those and summer skins could be the two themes we get for Season 3.
Finally, it was also revealed that Hawkeye will be the next character getting their own Twitch drop event, similar to the current Magik event that’s running until July 16. So far, we’ve had none of this information from any Marvel Rivals social channels just yet, but the description that Twitch has shared does read like a press release of sorts. It’s likely we’ll get an official announcement some time soon.
